Traffic Alert on Battery Power

The cigarette lighter power socket in my car is not working. When I drive with my nuvi 775T running on battery power, I do not get any traffic alerts. Any thoughts on how I can get traffic alerts on battery power?

The traffic receiver is in the power cable and power must be applied for it to work.

Either fix the dashboard cigarette lighter (it is quite possibly just a blown 25 cent fuse) or connect the plug to a cigarette lighter socket wired directly to your electrical system.

You Can't

Just +1 for the previous reply. You'll have to repair your accessory socket to have traffic functionality.

Look inside the socket to see if something was dropped inside, test the fuse, check for a loose or broken connection.
