Easy Test

cool
Save the file to your desktop...
Use POI loader and tell it the file is on/in the desktop folder...
Only try to load one file... if it is done right? poi loader will say XXX number of pois loaded successfully... unhook and it will restart... where to? extras and custom pois... try this

How TO?

cool
Yes... Picture = .bmp
Sound = .wav or .mp3 (I think for you unit it is .wav)

The picture and sound must be the same name as the poi file and in the same folder and case sensitive ...

Example = Hooters.csv
Hooters.bmp
Hooters.wav
To load more put them all in the same folder and use poi to load them all at the same time.

Once you download the excel

Once you download the excel file to your computer, then use the Garmin POI uploader software to put the onto your GPS unit. In the case of speed cameras, they will automatically alert you once you get close to them.

software updates

How can you update the software for a Garmin 265 gps without losing all your favorites? Went to garmin site, read about Mapsource?, cant see any way to download or use it without making map purchase. Not happy with 2010 maps currently on it. Travel cross country every week, run into way too many situations where (major us hwys and interstate connectors)roads that have been open for 5+ years are not shown on my Nuvi. Frustrating!

software updates for Garmin 265

How can you update software without losing all your favorites? Can you download or use Mapsource? without making map purchase? Anyone else have a problem with unit showing you driving "offroad" when you are on a major us hwy or interstate connector that has been open for 5+ years? I have 2010 maps on my 265. Very frustrated with it

Purchasing an update - and the lifetime updates purchased through Amazon are really affordable now - won't always erase the favorites. In any event, copy the file Current.GPX from your unit to the computer and then save it back to the unit as temp.gpx if the favorites were deleted.
