Nuvi 350 Software Update

I just updated my Nuvi software from version 6.00 to 6.20.

1. Has anything been done to remove the cross streets from being displayed?

2. Do others find that acquisition of satellites takes significantly longer?

3. Any other differences Nuvi 350 users have found?

Thanks.
Fred

You should

You should always do a hard reset after a firmware update. This will probably clear all your problems.

Question: How do I perform a master reset on my nuvi 300?
Answer:

Note: A master reset will erase all waypoints or favorites and will restore your unit to the default factory settings.

To perform a Master Reset on the nuvi 300, follow these steps:

1. Start with the device OFF and unplugged from the power source.
2. Use your index finger to press and hold the top right corner of the touchscreen.
3. Power the device ON while continuing to press and hold your finger to the top right corner of the touchscreen.
4. After the device powers ON, you will see the message: Do you really want to erase all user data?
5. When this message displays, remove your finger from the top right of the touchscreen and touch Yes.
6. The device will now go through the Reset.
7. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your nüvi.

After the nüvi is set up, if indoors, please go outside to allow the device to acquire the satellite information. Ensure that the device has a clear line-of-sight with the sky.

Hard Reset

Thanks DorkusNimrod for the hard reset procedure.

After another two startups of my Nuvi 350 it was behaving well so I didn't have to do the hard reset.

I guess one only does this in extreme circumstances if you lose all waypoints or Favorites. It's taken a few years for me to assemble a useful set of them.

Fred

If you do a hard re-set just

If you do a hard re-set just save a copy of your favorites and rename them temp.gpx and put them back or use Mapsource or Extra Poi Editor.

Just updated to version 6.20

Hi
I just updated to the new version after reading about your problem. I will try it out and keep you posted.

Attention tone...

@Albert2008

Can you (or anyone else who has updated to v6.10) check and see if the attention tone has actually been fixed? It was broken in v6.10 and if it has been fixed, I will proceed to update a friend's unit.

Loaded new software 6.20

The acquisition of satellites took significantly longer at the startup and then I shut it done. When I started it up again it loaded quickly. I do find that over the years it varies to load the satellites previous to this new software.

I have noticed with this update that it ask you a question "Your maps are out of date please visit carmin site" .

I updated today to version 6.20

I don't recall any problem with version 6.10. I do need to put this new version to a test.

I have no problems with this version. All is ok so far.

cheers

6.20 Software

My Nuvi 350 didn't say I had maps which were out of date. Mine are from 2008 with no updates.

Are you running another Garmin Nuvi?

Fred

THANKS!
