AC power adapter for 1490T

Does anyone know if the AC power adapter from the the Nuvi 765 is compatible with the 1490T.
The AC adapter for the 765 is 9v and I believe the AC adapter for the 1490T is 12 v.
I don't want to ruin my new 1490T with the wrong adapter.

Possible

If you are putting a 9V plug into a 12V plug usually there is not problems. Not recommended though. Another thing to look at is the current. Now if you were going 12V into a 9V that could present a problem of over voltage.

Aren't they both USB where they plug in to the Garmin? That would make them 5v, not 9v or 12v. USB chargers are completely universal and interchangeable.

Different approach

I got a 120 to 12v adapter that looks like the socket in the dash. It charges and allows me to use the unit for planning purposes while charging.
