I guess last time deal was better.
Last time 755T was for $199. I mean Original $299 -$100 saving = $199
Must be the around same price for 1390T this time too.

But it is suppose to include Lifetime map updates unless it is a typo.....that would be worth at least $80 so it depends on how much it will be....

You are right Life time traffic is worth for that price. But I wounder how long a GPS device has life? I mean either by software or Hardware issue you will replace it within 2 years. Isn't it? WIthin 2 years may be technology would be so advanced that they would start giving built in GPS mandatory in every car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GPS

Who knows???? Right now at $249 or lower it would appear to be a good deal....My 750 is over two years old and works just fine....More bells and whistles doesn't necessarily mean it is any better...I don't use the FM transmitter, mp3 player, photo player, etc.

This one at buydig only includes the free traffic.

The one coming up at costco is also going to include the lifetime maps card plus the free traffic.

Well, the reality is that we have no idea how much Costco is going to charge for the combination, so if you were planning on buying, the buydig price is excellent and includes tax . . . .

I personally have no need for lifetime map updates - roads (and the maping) doesn't change all that much (my 276c runs 2004 maps still - I have 2009 and 2010 mapping on the Nuvi and Zumo respectively).

Costco 1390T

I found this link regarding the 1390T at Costco by searching google. It shows a price of $299.99 but no additional discount of $100. I don't know if this is old or new. Don't know where this link came from. If you just search the Costco site the 1390T does not even show up under electronics /GPS. Very confusing....

I think Costco does spot buys or....

I think Costco does spot buys of a product or at least gets a time frame price break from garmin (and many other manufactuers)and that's why most of the emails say limited time savings of 1-2 weeks.
Many times I've received an email and if I go back after the costco email ad expired it's a broken link/blank page.

If you're ready to buy another good site is www.buy.com

Not a good choice

If you need to return. Costco is the best hands down. I would rather pay more to buy at Costco as it will give me lifetime satisfaction on those devices, especially with the latest quality issue from Garmin.

costco

Just know that when Costco gets a unit, it's been discontinued by Garmin already.

I'm thinking of getting one for my nephew. His b-day is 1/25. I'll see how much the Costco price is and decide if I'll get it there or one of the links posted here. Thanks to everyone for all of the information and opinions.

Not Always

nuvi 1390T for $299 @ Costco

The unit shows up on the costco Site for $399-$100 = $299. Special purchase between Jan 4 - Jan 24, 2010.

The Image shows a numaps Lifetime card but there's no mention of it in the product feature list.

If you don't care about the lifetime maps you can buy the unit at GPS on sale for $219 + $8 shipping (no sales tax) or Walmart for $239. If you want the lifetime maps $299 isn't a bad price but not a real bargain.

Just spoke with costco on

Just spoke with costco on line and they confirmed that they made an error in leaving out the life time maps card, which is included for the $299 price, along with, of course lifetime traffic. Hopefully they will correct the ad within a day or two, to include the lifetime maps card.

1390T for $199

I got the 1390T last week for $199. Best Buy had a sale for that price with life time traffic. Very nice GPS. Very fast on redraws and giving new directions when you change your route.

Like the bluetooth, didn't have on my 750.

maybe the "life" of that particular model is coming to an end and would be replaced shortly by a new generation. If so, better to buy this Costco one since most of the kinks should have been worked out and the newer models come with their own problems, which have to be discovered by the early, but unpaid, adopters.

It was $140 on Amazon.

Nuvi 1390t review

Purchased this and returned it the next day. This product is ridiculous. Why would you sell something that doesn't have the memory capacity to install map updates? I've been told you can uninstall some of the other features to make room, but WHY would anyone do that? I took it back, purchased a Magellan unit that was less money and had more memory. I won't go back to garmin.

No Biggie

Why not? My Nuvi 750 came with a gazillion languages plus some additional bloat that I had no need for, such as help files.

All gone now and every map update and custom POI I've downloaded in the past 3 years is residing in unit storage. (I did keep the Italian lady, though, she reminds me of my Nana)

I've installed an SD card, but only need it to hold a bunch of MP3 files.

Use your

Use your Magellan for a few days/weeks and you'll probably find out why a lot of us don't use them anymore and have gone to Garmin's. There are reason's why the Magellan is less expensive and has more memory. sad
