I have several POI files loaded on my GPS (Garmin 260) that I no longer need or use. How do I delete them?

I started using Navteq traffic receiver withmy nuvi 765 for the last couple of months since they increased and upgraded their coverage on Toronto area.

I understand how to add a custom symbol to a custom POI. However, I would like to use custom symbols for the waypoints that I create/store in MapSource.

I know how to edit those, and they look great in MapSource. The problem is that when I download those points to my Nuvi 255, the custom symbol does not go with it.

I have read a lot of bad about the 2010.4 update, I got it and have had no problems at all. I'm almost disappointed, everything seems to work perfectly. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

HelloI know how to upload custom POI's TO the garmin unit using poi loader but is there software anywhere that will enable me to download the CUSTOM poi's FROM the gps to the pc please?

So I got my 765T around Xmas, but yesterday was the first day that I was in an area with traffic info.......So, now that it's been "activated," I'm getting the little banner ads, but the part that really sucks is that now that I'm home where I DON'T get any traffic info (I'm actually 2 hours away from any area that has traffic info coverage....), I still get the ads!!!???!! That just BLOWS!

I am planning a trip to Europe later this year and am going to use my nuvi 1490 in pedestrian mode to navigate the streets of London, Lisbon, and Brussels. My concern is the approximately three hour battery life of the nuvi.

I have been looking into external batteries like the TekCharge MP1800 http://tinyurl.com/ybq632k.

I converted my csv files to gpx. All csv files open in MS Excel but the gpx files wont open. What do I have to use?

Does anyone know which units offer the ability to assign roads or areas to avoid besides the 855?

My garmin 750 will alert me of an upcoming POI only if it is on my side of a highway. If the restarant is on the other side it won't alert me even though there is a exit ramp or road to get me over there! Are all Nuvi's like this or just mine?

Has anyone experienced their Nuvi 1690 locking up after they type a location in Google and then tapping the found location? Once in a while when I want to do a Google search for a location I find that after the location is found and I tap the location on the screen it get highlighted in blue and then does nothing. I then have to power the unit off and then start over.

I am a private pilot who routinely uses a Garmin 96c to aid in VFR navigation. The other day, after reading how to convert the Nuvi into a flying machine, I thought I’d give it a try during a fairly long VFR flight where I had lots of time at cruise altitude.

Before the flight, I configured my 1350T for aerial usage by taking the following steps:

anybody have any luck getting their gps fixed by someone other than garmin ?

my son has been using our 650. at start up, as its going thru the screens it will flash updating gps software and then moves on to the agree screen . it starts but it doesnt seem to be able to find the satellites anymore. i did do an update but still unable to find satellites.the update screen thing never happened before.

Does anyone in the forum know if POIs can be added to MapSource using the databases provided through POI Factory? It's easy to add the information to the GPS device using the POI Loader; but I'm unable to find a way to add POIs to MapSource. I'd like to be able to use the additional information when planning trips.

If it is possible, what are the steps?

On the Nuvi 200 are there any operational benefits to installing a small one state map in gmapprom verses the full NA City Navigator map.
Will the GPS acquire a signal or calculate a route faster.

Can I change the default simulation speed of 11 mph increasing it to say 45 mph??

hello I will be in the Philippines and would like to have more detail than the current factory defalt. Does any one know if I can download detailed maps of the philippines on my Garmin etrax vista. I do have mapsource 2.24

There is a new traffic firmware upgrade for the 1490T, which just appeared using WebUpdater this weekend. I would presume this will also apply to others in the 1xxx series.
