Hello,
Does anyone in the forum know if POIs can be added to MapSource using the databases provided through POI Factory? It's easy to add the information to the GPS device using the POI Loader; but I'm unable to find a way to add POIs to MapSource. I'd like to be able to use the additional information when planning trips.
If it is possible, what are the steps?
Thanks for the help.
Yes, you can very easily
Yes, you can very easily view them in Mapsource. All POI files are either in .csv or .gpx. If the file is already in .gpx format then all you need to do is to open the file in Mapsource and you will see all the POIs. You can resave the file in Mapsource as a .gbd file or save it as .gpx in Mapsource.
If the POI file in in .csv format then you can use any number of the free software programs online to convert the .csv file to a .gpx file and repeat the above procedure.
So easy once you know how
Thanks for your quick reply.
If I save as a .gbd file I suppose all the POIs will automatically reload.
Which of "any number of the free software programs" do you suggest using to convert .csv to .gpx files?

I use Extra POI Editor by TurboCCC.

Follow the directions and use the Loader the first time, then grab the latest version.
