Does anyone know if there is a problem with garmin web site with downloading the Web updater ?
I can down load everything else but not this..

I noticed that Jill and Jack, the only American Red Light Camera sound files here, are computer generated and a little herky jerky. Does anyone know of other sources of American voices?

I created my own this time (it's easy) so not that big of a deal but....just curious.

I live in Tampa. I shore fish, bridge fish, wade fish, etc., all the time. Does anyone have any POI data for fishing spots in Florida, especially on the West Coast?

I've been searching for days and I can't find any real information.

Last night I hopped in the car to pick up some take out from one of our favorite restaurants (about 10 miles). I have been driving this route for 20+ years.
Just for kicks I put the restaurant in NUVI and asked to take me there the fastest way.
Normally I take a main road, 4 side streets and there we are. Same return trip.

After I updated all programs and map in my Garmin 1490T I lost the American English-Jack Voice in my GPS, now it only showed American English and American English-Jill. Does anyone have any idea how to get back Jack's voice? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I've entered the names and addresses of relatives, etc in Favorites. Entered them by address etc. Now all of a sudden a few of them pop up at the very top of the list as numbers, for instance.

They are still listed under Addresses but some, not all are listed at the very top of Favorites as:

Is product key # on the back of the card lifetime map the same product key # in your Garmin account? The reason I asked because after did the lifetime map update, I went back to account in Garmin website the product key # is different on the lifetime map card.

Is there any way to modify or add dialog in nuvi 755?

I would like to give my brother-in-law an automotive GPS for Christmas. He lives in Central Russia. Are any units or cards available to cover this area?

I noticed that the longitudes and latitudes for some sample poi points in csv files I downloaded were off as compared to the actual poi location on google earth (which was more accurate). Is there a good reason for the descrepancy? TIA

Realizing nothing is perfect, I've still been frustrated in the past with sending Google addresses to the GPS because they were often simply "close" or on the right street. (I know MQ used to be really bad about correct directions.)

A new release of Google Earth just became available within the last couple of hours. It's release 5.2.1.1588 and installed with no problem on my computer. Not sure what changes are included.

I own a Garmin Nuvi 1490T.
This morning, I attempted to use the web updater to update to software version 4.6.
The web updater completed correctly.
I unplugged my GPS and it started to boot back up.
Now, the GPS is stuck at a screen that says Loader Loading...
and there is a garmin logo.
I have let this sit for a long time, no change.
I tried powering off the unit, made no difference.

Is it possible and how to just hear the alert and not see the alert message itself (try to minimize display clutter from several alert message popups)in gpx and csv files for garmin? TIA,

I just got an email from Garmin about numaps City Navigator NA NT update price drops!

The new Garmin list price for lifetime map updates is $89.99 for either card or download. They also say the OneTime update has dropped in price but Garmin's site won't tell me for sure although one page says $49.99.

Let's hope the 3rd party sellers soon revise their prices downwards, too.

I just received an e-mail from Amazon.com that there is a recall for some gpss. There was a link that took me to a Garmin page where I could insert the Ser. number of my gps and I got a message that mine does not fall in the category. Did anybody else get this from Amazon.com?

I'm having a strange problem with my 1490T and I'm stumped as to the cause.

When I access my Favorites, I see the various catagoies I've created along with “All Favorites”, but the unit generates its own catagories.

Here is the current set.
