Garmin talk

I work with a Power company and have placed our entire GIS map on the Nuvi... I have created around 40,000 POIs in a folder named "Transformer". I have these listed in a Custom folder and would like to figure out a way to have the "Name of the POI" pop up at a certain speed range or stay viewable until zoomed out to a level of about .3 miles or so....

recently purchased the 855 nuvi, it came with 4.60 firmware out of the box,question is this the most recent firmware for this model?and if not is the newest firmware stable? thanks

I lost my eTrex Vista C, left it on the truck lid after a bike ride actually.
I bought a new one.
Went to download maps and they are locked?
Can I unlock them to download to the new E-trek?

When I download my tracks from my 765T I get multiple "Last Position" POIs. I probably have 4 or 5 at various spots. How do I delete those from my GPS?

Using MapSource 6.16.2, and I have the CNNT 2008, 2009 and 2011.1 maps installed. When set for "Higher" or "Highest" detail, all these "71" show along various roads. If I switch maps, there are along other roads. What do you suppose this is all about? See the picture for what I'm talking about.

My old trusty and rusty Nuvi 350 locked up on me for the first time ever. The screen didn't update or move for about 30 seconds while driving...it was really unsettling. Since this is an older model and it's the first time it ever did this (that I'm aware of anyways), does this mean it's beginning to break down?

Travel from A to B and my Garmin takes me by, what seems, the most direct route. Drop off a package and return home and, for a large part of the route, it sends me a totally different way. I reckon little time difference either way but what is the logic that makes the Garmin do this?

Any thoughts?

Interesting. Don't see a listing for a nüvi® 3790LMT on garmins website, but Costco Canada is listing it for $459.99.

My questions are about POI icons. I have the map detail set to "Most". If I am sitting still and zoom the unit down to 300' and use my finger to drag the map I can see the POI Icons. When I go back to navigating down the road, I never see the Icons. Also, I never get a Proximity Alert. I have it set to "Single Tone". Is this normal operating procedure or do I have something set wrong?

My brother-in-law asked me last night to load the 2010 map updates on his 330 since he is pretty much technically challenged. How much of the latest 2010 updates will I be able to install on the 330? Thanks in advance for the info.

Well, here we are in Sydney Australia cleverly baited by Garmin with there slim, sexy and state of the art Garmin 3790T, I use my GPS all day 5 days a week over 1200kms to boot, at first glance I was impressed with the look and reponse of the hands free voice command feature that seemed to have a good 90% hit rate with most commands and address instructions, but after a few days little things beca

Also only a few of my custom POI's show up, I have seen posts where this a known problem.
This is a nice GPS, but I do have a little bit of buyers remorse.
