What is the best buy for a Garmin mobile GPS?

I'm trying to record a new voice in the Garmin Voice Studio. For about the first 5 or 6 recordings everything went fine. Now I'm getting an error for unauthorized access exception, cannot delete the c:\documents and settings\all users\......\voices\\_work.wav. I click OK and it closes. Restart and repeat.

Anyone looking for a good hand-held I just got an email from gpscity.com in Nevada. For a limited time they are selling the Garmin 60CSx for $199.00 which sounds like a very good price. I have the mate to that one, the 76CSx, and it's a heck of a nice GPS.

Is there a way to backup the existing maps on Garmin t3790?

This topic has already been flogged to death; however having read all threads there is one issue which is still unclear to me:
Will Nuvi (e.g. models 7xx or 14xx) use multiple *.gpi files if it has them stored under different names in the x\garmin\poi directory on the device?

This comes up often, especially right before a map update is expected by the community here, but in the Big Picture, it's most likely NO BIG DEAL if you do. As a new GPS owner, you may be wondering WHY?

Today, bought Nuvi 1490 LMT from Costco Canada for my wife. When I connected to my pc to check the disk space on it, I was surprised to see that there was only 69.5 MB and not 75 MB space left out of 2 GB.
I am wondering how this space will be enough for future map updates?

What is your advice?

Garmin provides MapSource as a free download
It lets you:
import Favorites from one nuvi
review and update them and then
export them back to another nuvi
The problem is that it deletes all the phone numbers in the process

1-BE SURE YOU KEEP SOME LIST OF YOUR FAVORITES WITH THE PHONE NUMBERS
2-DO NOT EXPORT THE FILE BACK TO THE SOURCE NUVI IF YOU NEED THE PHONE NUMBERS

My garmin 350 does a very poor job in the south jersey areas. I called tech support about the mapping on my 350 and the tech was very helpful. She looked up the addresses of the places my 350 could not find at all and told me the map that came with my gps did not have these routes listed when I purchased the unit in Oct 2007 for $400.00!!! Said I needed the 2011 map update.

Is it possible to have more than one POI on Garmin GPS.
I had one on when I added WalMarts it deleted the previous. I am new to this so???? TKS

Garmin earnings were just released, and the stock is down 6%.

Basically, the worst performance is US personal nagivation devices. Migration seems to be toward cellphone navigation, which Garmin tried unsucessfully to enter, and failed.

I don't get it. Can someone explain why you prefer to pay $10 a month for cellphone navigation, instead of a standalone GPS?

I've had my ecoRoute HD connected to my 1490LMT for several weeks now without a single connection problem. I love this thing but this week my patience was tested.

Monday morning I noticed that the 1490 had not connected to the ecoRoute HD. No problem I figured, just re-establish the connection. Nope, it wouldn't. Grrr.

Recently, when looking to replace my lost/stolen nüvi 760, I was surprised to find that none of the new units offered a line-out jack to allow using the unit through a car stereo. It leads me to wonder how the volume/clarity of these new units compares to my older 760.

When I was considering my purchase of my 1490T, and reading reviews on Amazon, I thought one of the reviewers mentioned that it was possible to turn OFF the traffic component.

However, I don't see any place I can do this. Is there some "non-consumer" secret screen I can access that will let me do this?

i have had a Tom Tom for 4 years, just the basic model, recently its been playing up so i bought a garmin Nuvi 245
i know they get good reviews but i cant get on with it,on several trips now its taken me miles out of the way, i cant get it to not use motorways but still try for quickest, it does not show distance to destination just estimated arrival time

I recently broke down and purchased a map update for my StreetPilot 2730, which I have owned since 2006. Initially, I had trouble loading the updated maps due to space constraints, although eventually I overcame this after figuring out how to delete the old maps.

Considering getting one, I have a 265W currently. Interested in the lifetime maps and traffic. Anyone have one that can advise?

I just bought my 3rd Garmin. My first a 360 my last an 850 and this is the 1490LMT.
MI haven't driven around with the new one very much, but have played with it some and I find some of the new features pretty kewl. some of the old features I used to like are gone. are gone.

Last week there was talk about an upcoming new map Release.....

Did it happen?
