Nuvi 265WT POI's won't speak or show

My Nuvi 265WT has recently gone bonkers. It used to announce and show the POI's that I have uploaded via POI Loader. Now, it will neither give the alert or show the icon. This seemed to happen when I upgraded to POI Loader 260, but I wouldn't swear to that. I went back to the older version of POI Loader with no luck. So, I reinstalled 260. I have tried a hard reset with no luck. (The hard reset technique does not erase my favorites and POI's as it warns) Not sure if that is an indication of something wrong with the unit. I have checked the Settings to assure that the Custom POI's are checked for an audio alert. I had backed up the unit to my hard drive a while back and "sent" some of the files back to the GPS. Any idea's?

I have a 265WT also. I have

I have a 265WT also. I have also upgraded to webupdater 260 and do not have a problem with sound alerts and icons associated with my costum POI's. I have hear that some people had to re-install sox.exe after installing the new POI loader. This may account for the missing sound alerts. As far as the icons, you have to be zoomed in close before they will show.
That is the only help I can offer.

Some users did report when

Some users did report when they installed 2.60 it loaded it at a different location on the computer and they had to re-install sox.exe.On my unit it installed the same location that 2.54 was located.

POI Loader 260 and SOX

Yeah, I initially had that problem. When I tried to run the POI Loader. it kept coming back and saying it couldn't find certain .dll files. I kept moving them over to the POI Loader folder until it finally stopped alerting me about a missing file. I ended up placing the SOX file in the same folder as POI Loader. I may still have something misplaced. I'll have to go back and check some more. Thanks.

Make sure you are using the sox.exe listed here http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25730

SOX installed as sub-directory in the Garmin Folder

Hi, this is the first time I have had a problem with SOX. I did upgrade to the latest version of SOX. As I mentioned in an earlier reply, whenever I tried to run POI Loader 260, it wauld come back and say I was missing one .dll file or another. I finally got it to quit asking me for a file that was missing. I may still have something missplaced in regards to SOX and the POI Loader. I'll keep snooping at that. Thanks.

There is a post on here

There is a post on here about the new sox.exe requiring some extra files. The old one does not.

SOX 14.0

OK< I downloaded SOX 14.0 and placed it in all my folders that contain either POI Loader or the POI's. I initially tried to load with Express Load. Dodn't work. Went back and did the manual install and ran a simulated run through three POI's, including a red light camera and it worked. So, guess I will stay with SOX 14.0. Thanks for the recommendation.
