Garmin talk

For the longest time, my Nuvi 350 has been routing directions to avoid left turns. Often, the directions will send us ahead of a left turn to route us into a U-turn and then a right turn.

I have been using a Garmin for several years. I used my non-smart phone for navigation once but purchased a garmin before my next road trip. I like this sites red light camera info and wonder do the smart phones give the same warning?

I can't install the Communicator Plugin. I get an error,"This application failed to start because the application is configured incorrectly. Reinstall the application."

I've found one other reference to this problem in search, but no resolution. Has anyone had this problem and resolved it?

As I mentioned in another post, I gave my Garmin 260W to my 20 year old son when I purchased a Chevy Equinox last year with a built in NAV system, which works pretty good.

Sorry if I am naive but is there a limit to the number of items in a CSV file that can be converted to a POI file. I ask this because I have a CSV file of 160 items that only partially converts to GPX OR at least my Garmin will only allow me to see some of the POIs. I've used the POI loader on both CSV files and GPX files (from the same CSV file) without success. Any ideas?

Loaded all my custom poi's onto this unit. All works except no sound. Little bit of reading, my suspicions were correct...it don't like mp3 files. Grabbed all the wav files and reloaded. Poiloader tells me now unable to convert speedtrap.wav to the proper format therefore audio was not transferred. Got that for all of them. Kind of at a loss here. How do I fix this?

Just downloaded and installed new firmware. Not sure when it was released but I know it had to have been the last few days.

Some updates/fixes
fixed blue tooth volume problems,
different voices fixes,
fixed crashes when downloading large routes
the was a fix in the screen brightness

I have loaded a .csv a few weeks back which runs fine, as expected there are no icons on the screen.

I have searched for the answer but I didn't see anything.

In the past I have always cleared my trip log after Jeeping on a offroad excursion once I was able to return home. Todays 20 mile offroad trip in the desert needs to be saved because I plan to bring others out there in the future.

Is there anyway to save it to my comfuzer :>) and then reload it to my Nuvi 855 in the future?

It is coming Tues. I had a 265W, but gave it to my son when he went to college. I then bought a car, Chevy Equinox, with a NAV system.
I was talking to my other son who is learning to drive, and he mentioned that it is distracting to always having to glance down to see his speed.

We have contacted Garmin numerous times about the voice of Jack, and maybe others, saying reft or something like that for left. It sounds like a cross between left and right and when on an interstate or other busy streets is dangerous as we have no idea which direction he means. I have software 7.2 and audio 1.20.

I'm Repeatedly getting the following error message with POILOADER 2.5.4 and the latest Offbeat Tourist Attractions....

"Data error in line 6231 in file... No further data can be loaded..."
Downloaded it multiple times... Same error...
Garmin CSV format file..

Older version already deleted.... Looking for previous version...

I reset the FM Traffic table on my Garmin 1490 LMT and the traffic icon has yet to reappear after several hours of operation. Any ideas.

I was driving in Levittown, NY and wanted to find a Dunkin Donuts. I went to Points of Interest and Food and spelled out Dunkin Donuts. It did a search and found 1 Dunkin Donuts that was 224 miles away.
Did anyone ever have this happen to them.

I finally found a Dunkin Donuts the old fashioned way - I looked for the sign and passed about 5 on my route home.

I have 2 POI files on my GPS

1) REDLIGHT CAMERA USA GPI. gpi file 358 kb

2) REDLIGHT CAMERA CSV.csv file 237 kb

Would someone Please tell me if those 2 files are the same thing, and what is the differents from a gpi file and a csv.file

Should I keep the GPI file ,and delete the csv file that is smaller in size?

The issue with favorites being rendered as black dots still has not been fixed.

How can one change the poi file name on the Garmin 1490? If I down load Rest Areas, and use the POI Loader, it creates a file named Custom POI'S. If I do the same with another POI file, it overwrites. I have tried changing the name on the Garmin via Windows Explorer, but the name stays the same on the Garmin.

"there was an unexpected error during the creation of the custom POI file"

This is all it said, nothing else that would give me any clue whatsoever, of how to fix the error. Never have seen this before.

Can anyone help me find out what/where this error is and how it can be mended? Thanks much!
