I found out a while back that this SLOWS DOWN map transfers from Garmin....

My 'fast fix' is to unblock all and do the download...

Anybody know which of these when blocked, slows down Map Downloads to a crawl?

Hi all

This is probably a regular question. I have a Garmin Nuvi 350(second hand). It came with a SanDisk 512MB MicroSD card. I bought a Verbatim 4GB SDHC class 4 card yesterday. The only problem is that the Nuvi won't recognise the new card. It is recognised by Windows when I connect the Nuvi to the computer.

I did the Garmin WebUpdater - it says I have the latest software installed.

Unable to download any red light alerts mp3 or wav, indicated it beening dl but nothing happens.

I'm sure many here are familiar the the 'POI Megafile' that is available for use in MS Streets & Trips. It contains an incredible number of groups of POIs. And there is at least one .csv version of it available. BUT, as a single .csv file, if I load it into my Garmin I'll get just one category of POIs (thousands of POIs appearing at once).

If you post corrections on the Garmin website, do they really do anything with them? Has anybody ever received any kind of response after posting?

On my old Garmin, if it was taking awhile for satelites to show up, I could touch the bars and I'd get a sky map of the the satelites, my car, the sun, the moon as well as an indication of how accurate (30 feet, 14 feet etc.).

What's the difference between a TourGuide alert and a non-TourGuide alert? I've got a couple of my custom POI files defined as TourGuide files. When I load all of my custom POI's in manual mode I set the TourGuide alert for, say, "Wineries" at one mile, everything works as I imagine they should - I get alerted when I get within a mile of a winery.

Is there any way to see or know where junction views are; either using the GPS or Mapsource? Or any other method that may exist.

Dec 2012 MSN will stop working, does anybody know if garmin is planing to do anything or do we have to buy another gps with traffic?

I just got a 1450 for my brother in law. I have a 1490.

I noticed that the icons (Map Symbols) for favorites show up on the map on my 1490, but the icons (which show up in the "press for more" area, and which I can add by using the edit function) only show up as black dots on the map on the 1450.

Since my 1490 displays these icons/Mpa Symbols, I thought they would show up on the 1450.

I upgraded the maps on my 765T today. The process was long but went fine. At the end, it came up successful.

When I disconnected from my PC, the 765T was still showing it was connected. Could not get it to go back to normal mode and when I reconnected to the PC, it didn't recognize the Garmin.

I have see New Garmin that they have a New Icon about Gas station,it show the location and also it give you the current gas price..I like to know how the Gps is getting the Price and how accured they are when I notice that I pass by a Gas station and it sale at one price ,and I pass again 1 hour later and the price as change..

I suspect this may already be known here (although my searches didn't find anything), so my apologies if I'm stating the obvious to some (or all).

We are going to tour Maine soon and I downloaded offbeat attraction POI to my 3790t, and I named the file as tourguide so that as we are driving it'll alert us of a coming attractions. What I wonder is, although it does give me the alert sound when it's close to a POI (I set the radius to 32,000 feet), why can't I click on the alert icon and see more information or tell it to go?
