After downloading the newest lifetime map to Nüvi 760, I discovered I besides the new map still have a part of the previous loaded map (Map, Info: Europe, Nordics)!

The SD card is removed!!

I can't figure out how to remove it. Normally the new download remove present maps.

The GPS operates normal

I have read many of the "help with creating .csv", however most refer to using a spreadsheet program. I tried using that buy my Open Office calc isn't cutting it. Why?

So I used "notepad", got what I want pretty much but here is the problem. How to get description to reside on a given line.
Sample: -157.xxxxxx,21.xxxxxx,restaurant,"address blah blah,City,state

Seems to me that last year my 1350 was able to play .wav files (e.g. "Tim Horton's ahead") but now it won't. Garmin tells me that a 1350 has never been able to play .wav files. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I searched and have found people mentioned 8bit or 22x22 and using MS Paint, but I'm a mac user and have no idea how to convert the current icons to show up (without zooming all the way) as I drive like my saved favorites. I have successfully downloaded Starbucks POI's and icons and they do show up, but you have to zoom all the way in in order to see them.

I have my favourites set up in several categories for ease of use. I'd like to edit the names of the categories, but I can't seem to find a way to do that. I can create a new category, but editing doesn't seem to be an option.

Anyone have a way to do that?

A couple of days ago my 1390 was correctly displying redlight warning and speed warning. Then yesterday I began to experiment with TourGuide gpx files (yes, I know they won't show the jpg or play an mp3 file). Since then neither redlight or speed alerts work. I have tried everything including a couple of hard resets and a re-load of current software - nada.
Anyone any suggestions?

I have a 1450. If I download more than one set of POI's, i.e. Walmart and Passport America, they wind up in "Extras" in one big lump. How do I break them out individually?

When I got my 3790 there was an icon to push for money saving offers. I was a beginner with the device trying out all the options. So now I can't figure out how to turn them off. They're for Best Western, Shell gasoline (enriched with nitrogen!), Red Lobster and I think The Olive Garden.

If you actually press on the ad, you get a search results screen of nearest locations.

I recently downloaded the complete listing of the Harley-Davidson dealerships in the United States along w/ the HD icon & the voice prompt indicating I'm approaching a dealership. I dumped them into my Garmin Nuvi 760 & found the HD dealership listing under the custom POI's.

Back in January, I installed a workaround on the web site to address problems with POI Loader 2.6.0.

Now that POI Loader 2.6.1 has been out for a while, I've decided to remove the workaround, which had some side-effects such as truncation issues.

Do businesses pay to have their business searchable? Sort of like a Yellow Pages but on the GPS? Where does a GPS draw content from for things like
- department stores,
- Public parks,
- churches,
- some doctors offices

At my last job I would use my Zumo to save new routes I'd use on the job. Just turn the unit on and drive. The next day, (for some reason it wouldn't allowing saving the same day) I would save and name the route.I had several saved.

I just purchased a NUVI 1300. The restaurant POI's for the area are very inaccurate. Many have closed, others to not appear. How do I report these to Garmin. The 1300 allows me to rate or report them for deletion, but not edit them.

I am looking at the new Garmin for truck drivers. When would be a good time to get one and get the free mapes update for 2012. jolleyr

My new nuvi has the free lifetime traffic, When I go to the traffic button I'm told to go to garmin.com/fmtraffic to register, along with the number of my receiver. According to what I saw on Garmin's site you don't have to register for the free reporting... and the web addy takes me to a screen to buy traffic subscriptions.

My Nuvi 1350 displays & makes a sound in areas which are designated at 4 mph (walking?) zones. This is in addition to the alerts for both redlight & speed cameras. I had this happen driving in downtown Washington, DC & it was enormously annoying.

Is there a way to turn off those walking zone alerts without affecting the redlight & speed camera alerts?

If so, how.

I just updated my 255W with the most recent maps.

Noticed this morning I no longer had Mapsource in my Garmin folder.

Did the map update cause me to loose it or what?

Does anyone know what the graph colors on the satellite screen represent? The satellite signal meters can be either solid blue or transparent.

It appears that solid blue is required for navigation, but what does a transparent bar with a high signal strength represent?

I have a Nuvi 350 and a 765T. The 765T battery will only run the GPS for a short period of time compared to the 350. Is this a characteristic of the 765 or do I have a defective battery? It has been this way from the start. I would like to hear from other 765 owners. Thanks for any help.
