How do I put the poi's on my Gps
I'm new here on this site ,so how do I get the poi's I want on to my Gps.I have a Delorme but am thinking of getting another one.I hear the Tom Toms are very good and also the Garmin line.I use my laptop but but find it hard to take every place we go like in car.I want something that is very user friendly ,so open to suggestions.

Converting google maps poi data ???
I have data in google maps on the order of a coupla hundred locations (and a route) mapped out on my last long (3600 mile trip). Its in google maps KML format...how would i go about posting it here ? complete n00b with poi so if its answered elsewhere i apologize in advance..

What extension does a Garmin Nuvi 680 want for POI? CSV or GPI
My 680 won't download CSV files with the POI loader. Garmin software engineers told me that it wants GPI or GPX files. Have other users found this to be true?

Display Details of POI On Alert: name,cmt,desc
When my alert goes off it only displays the symbol and never the name or title of the poi, how can i change this?

Loading POI on Nuvi 680
Just bought a Nuvi 680 had a 360. When I download the POIs it tells me that they have been loaded and when I look at the GPS there is nothing there? Any thoughts on this?

Proximity Alerts (by radius not route)
I'm creating poi files programatically from asp.net,sql and poi loader.
I have validated the gpx files prior to uploading with poi loader and they are perfect.

Adding POi
We purchased a complete bundle and we installed it in our extras and when we went in to add more POI it took out the complete bundle. How do we add new ones but able to keep the bundle or just keep adding points of interest

Icons Displayed in POI's Pages Of Nuvi 200
Is there any way to have an Icon (i.e. Rest Area) to show up on the initial pages of the POI menu? For example; to see a list of upcoming rest areas, the only way I've found is to go to the "Auto Services" icon and then through several sub topics until finding the "Rest Areas" that I loaded. That's a lot to do while driving. (sorry I don't have my Nuvi in front of me for exact steps)

Custom POI for Cape Cod, MA Beaches?
Hi, does anyone have a custom POI for all the beaches on Cape Cod in MA? I just spent the week there and my Garmin only knew about 3 out of more than 25 beaches in the area. It was very discouraging.

Problems with Converting Data
I've started to create my first POI file. After pulling Addresses I need I input them into GPS Visualizer's BATCH conversion and use that. However, I'm doing thousands of addresses (Well it will be, when I'm done) and Have to copy and paste the coordinates, around.. Below is an example.

Time to Create POI GPI Files
Could someone please tell me the average time it takes to convert their files (type and # of waypoints) to GPI files? I have been starting to create GPX files to load into POI LOADER 2.5.2 and my times seem long in comparison to some comments on other posts.

Please consider for the Alphabetized POI listing...
May not be the exact right forum, but it would be great to show a 'last updated date' next to each POI title in the A-Z Alphabetized POI listing. This way, we could check at a glance whether we needed to update our personal collection of downloaded POIs. Not sure how difficult it would be to implement, however. Thanks!

Using POI Loader's Custom Folder option
in the context of loading multiple .gpi files into my Garmin 260W, it seems that using the "Custom Folder" option in POI loader would be an easy way to do it.
I created a couple of .gpi files in a folder, then just copied them to the Garmin POI folder on my unit, and they were available as custom POIs.
this seems a good way to do this without overwriting the POI.gpi file.

Question about my first download
I just did my first download to my Nuivi 350 and loaded rest areas. All seemed to go well but I don't know what I should do when I look at my GPS. Where would I find the rest areas I just down loaded? If I am driving on the highway how would I find the rest areas?

Finding a particular poi on the Nuvi
This is not a complaint. It is a question.
On the current Cracker Barrel file...
If one goes to Where To >> Custom Pois >> Restaurants >> Cracker Barrel (this is how it is set up in my file structure)...
Then how does one find a particular Cracker Barrel in the file?
