Creating POI files

Hi
For the life of me I cant get the HD icon to load into my Zumo 450.
I can get the POI for all the HD dealers but the icon will not show up.
Can some one please walk me through the steps.
I have done everything that i have read here with no luck

I cant find my poi files using the poi loader when i run it.. the files i downloaded are not showing up when i browse to find them

When viewing GPX files, you may find it helpful to look at them with a free program from Microsoft called "XML Notepad 2007"

It is a nice little program for viewing any XML file.

I have created a map with google maps that has enough locations to be on two pages. When I copy the "Link" into takeitwithme, it only loads the locations on a single page. Does anyone know how I get it to load all locations to my GPX file?

As my C340 is filling up with Custom POI's I am downsizing my larger files.
Files like red light cameras, rest areas, interstate exits and zip codes are too large to include the whole nation.
I save the file in excel, sort by latitude, longitude and then delete locations that I will not be using. This cuts the file sizes by 75% in most cases. I am a west coaster.

I use Excel to customize my few POIs. I use the 5th column for the State code and find that a sort by State makes it very easy for me to find a listing, or determine if I have it. A number of the files that I have d/l don't have the State included and I have no idea of where the POI is, short of doing a lat/long search.

Can the Icons be changed / added to a 4370?? i need or am looking for a tower Icon and would like to place this icon in my unit as a poi icon also setup a proximity alert.. has anyone done this before or know how this can be done.

They say i can have unlimited POI and Way points in this 4370 Unit.

I'm fairly new to this entire process, but I have a question on how a .csv file should be built. I see some files with the negative number (longitude?) in the first column (see Penn State Football Radio Network). When I check these coordinates with Google Maps, they a re somewhere on Antartica. Other files have the negative number in the second column, and seem to be correct.

I was sent some files that describe the boundries of "Walk-In Hunting" areas in South Dakota. The zipfile contains *.shp files. There is also a link to a link to a program called DNRGarmin that is supposed to allow uploading to my nuvi.

Given the following HTML code, can coords be converted to longitude and latitude? I suspect coords are associated with the SEPTA map and can't be converted. Can anyone confirm?

Anyone have a church icon? Maybe the outline of a church with a steeple or just a cross. I'd like to post an icon for use with multiple church files that I'm working on.

I know gpx is only for Garmin units but can csv be used by non-Garmin units? Trying to decide if I should create POIs in both csv and gpx formats.

Hello , I need a little help(Or a lot)regarding POI FOLDERS. I CREATED A FOLDER TO LOAD TO CALLED DAIRY QUEENS , THEN LOADED THE DAIRY QUEEN poi'S TO THIS FOLDER. THEN I AM WANTING TO LOAD THE iCON and MP3 for Dairy Queen.

I need your help to make my new POI'S work on my Nuvi 680:

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I downloaded 3 files and I don't see them working yet.

This is what I do:

1.- I created a "new poi foler" on my desktop
2.- Open POI Factory and downloaded for example (Starbucks Coffee - US)file and press "save to my poi folder" wich I created in my desktop

Investigating how easy it is to geocode 1600 addresses and create a POI file. Would like an automated process to make it easy when changes are made to the file. Is it possible to input a csv file into GPS Visualizer and output a file that could be inputted into POI Verifier?

How do I download sounds from POI Factory?

My phone won't xfer contacts, so I figure if I can upload my contacts via csv or gpx and allow me to access them from the custom poi screen and dial directly from the Zumo, I can live with that. (I have 2 conversion programs, but can't seem to get the format right to accept phone numbers). Any suggestions, or is there a better answer to my problem?? Tx!

I have read some of the threads but still don't understand how to create a cvs file from excell. Is there some info for dummies like me to make cvs file of my own poi. Thanks for any help again I do not have alot of computor savy
