Another question about traffic receivers. Is the traffic antenna in the traffic receiver mount or does it use the gps antenna? If it uses the gps antenna, would using my external antenna help the traffic reception?
Obviously the better the reception, the more often I would receive traffic updates.

can POI be loaded onto a street pilot III

Is there an easy way to get POI's for only certain states or are the files for the entire nation so small it really doesn't matter?

Also, if I import POI's into my Garmin, say for Walmart, that Garmin already had from the Factory, will I have duplicate points all over my map?

I have a 76CSx which I use on my JetSki and Boat. So I use the BlueCharts as well as CN & Topo.

I currently have BlueCharts Americas Version 2008.5 and wanted to know if it was still the latest version AND if Garmin planned to offer "Lifetime" BlueCharts like they are with CN.

If Garmin plays their cards right, they will remain king in the gps market. We have all been wondering what they have been up to, well just look below and you will see. These new units are actually going to compete in price with everyone else.

Dont remember when , but on this forum someone talked about making your own screen when the unit boots up .

Did a quick check and the 1390T is available for pre-order from amazon with an available date of May 20, 2009.

Costco Online has the Garmin Nuvi 780 for sale for $249.00 ($349.00 less $100.00) Looks like a good buy.

I check for Garmin updates when I update my red light and speed camera POIs every Wednesday. I see an additional update titled "Localization Data, XML file"n when I access WebUpdater. I have a 765T. Does anyone know what that update does and should I add it to my unit? Appreciate any help.

Hello...........trying to learn how to set up my garmin (nuvi 200w) so that the speed alerts come on when necessary. I downloaded certain poi's and I can see them, but am confused as how to set them to work when the time comes.........is this done automatically when downloaded into the device and the fact that the sound is on?

I was trying to edit a "callable" telephone number of a favorite saved with Garmin Mobile XT, but I can't seem to find out how to do it. I have tried under Mapsource, but it doesn't seem to offer that as an option. I can save the number as test, but I can't get the phone symbol and have it call from the phone.

anyone know if I can load the Nuvi 255 firmware on my 250? I want some of the new ecofuel features...i dont see why u need the new hardware for this to work.

Well, I guess it's time I start an official thread about Extra_POI_Editor at POI Factory.

It does too many things for me to explain in a short post, so let's say it will allow you to view, edit and convert (new!) any GPX/CSV/OV2/JPG/KML/MGLN POI file to GPX/CSV/OV2/KML. Yes! Geocoded JPG can be imported too!

Anyone know how to add a new POI for a new speed trap that just went up on my street for a garmin nuvi 350?
