Please, can any body help me?
I am trying to upload a custom splash screen to a 7 series garmin nuvi. Have tried ximage upload and cannot find my device. Is it possibe to do? If it is what are the steps????

I just updated my Nuvi880 to 4.30 and since then when I display the map in "track up" mode I get a green terrain map. (Green due to elevation, I guess.) This makes it a little tougher to read the text on the map.

I emailed Garmin and their response is below:

On my 265WT, I have observed that since the day I have loaded POI Files, my screen has become little sluggish.

When zoomed in to see the POI Icons, I am seeing a lot of lag in my route naviagation! If I zoomout, I cannot see the icons, but my route navigation improves drastically!

This question may or may not apply here but the other Zumo board I visit told me how to send route to my GPS and I know how to do that..

My question is which is better practice.

Just picked up up nuvi 200. gps newb here, so i will be paying attention and asking los of q's that i don't find answers for.

I want to upgrade to get Bluetooth. I have no need for traffic alerts. The 765T ($420.00) is way to much money. The 265WT (around $240.00) seems to be weak on its Bluetooth and is having problems with the 2009.1 maps. Its funny that the best review for bluetooth was Nuvi 760 ($220.00). It looks like its my best bet for an all in one GPS and Bluetooth. I just don't like going backwards

Can .wav sound files be included with .mp3 files in Sounds?

has anybody had a issue with free traffic,well it is not free it is $100 dollars, it does not give correct traffic,if there is bad traffic it wont tell you and if it is good traffic it says there is a five minute delay

I like the .gpx files because of all the xtra detail in the POI's. For example I am going to florida soon so added the olive garden gpx that has phone numbers and stuff. But I also have a csv file with ALL the olive gardens listed. Does anybody know if one overwrites the other? Also, I put an mp3 alert and named it the same as the csv file, will it work with the florida olive gardens?

My nuvi 260 has text to speech, but, if your going down the highway say 60mph the alert to turn comes too late. You'll miss the exit or turn every time. I have to watch the screen so I don't miss it. Is there a way to change this?? Has anyone else seen this on their device??

The version without text to speech does not have this problem, it gives you plenty of time.

I took my Gamin 760 for a spin yesterday and on the way home I wanted to travel to an adjacent road.
I new the road was say 10 miles to the west but I didn't know if any of the side roads i was passing would intersect.

I am considering up grading to a new 755T. Features wise it appears to be perfect for me. I am wondering if we have any 755T owners on the forum. If so, can you please offer your thoughts and impressions. I am wondering if it has the same quirks as the 760.

Just got a 555w and was of the impression that it was bluetooth compatible. The tools section shows how to pair use this service but i'm not sure that i'm doing this right since so far nothing is happening.

I’m curious, my nuvi 750 warns me as I approach a red light camera, and warns me when I approach a speed zone/trap. When approaching the speed zone, the G.P.S. flashes in red, but not so for the red light camera. I have look at both CSV files in excel, but see no special codes. I would like the camera warning to also flash red. Any suggestions?

I have read Motorcycle Mama's instructions on how to do this but got stumped on the first step:

- Rename your MP3 EXACTLY the same name as your POI file except for the file extension (the three letters after the dot).

I picked up the Zumo 550 about 2 weeks ago and have been playing with it and testing it. (nice having one that I can program my rides in) I have gotten a lot of good tips from the different discussions here. I have just ran into an issue, and would appreciate some input on it.

I don't want to spend the money right now on a traffic receiver, but I recently upgraded to a Windows Mobile smartphone. With the internet you can download a free Google Mobile Maps app that is very interesting. It can access the gps in the phone, show addresses, businesse, give directions and yes, even traffic reports, indicated by colors for many cities.

Is there anything that can help learn how to use Mapsource - Garmin manual pretty sketchy. As an example how do I get POI files (converted to GPX) to to stick in the POI screen of Mapsource. Every time I loan one file the previous one disappears.

Your help appreciated.
