How do I get POI's to show up on map all the time?

 

Hello,

I am new here, I read the FAQ section and did a search but I could not find an answer to my question.

I have a Nuvi 350 and have added the restareascombined POI file and icons to my GPS. However, there are times that I am not using it as a route and would like to see the rest areas on the map while driving. Just not alerts when getting close.

Is this possible? if so how?

You would need to be zoomed in to 300 feet or closer and in a 2D map mode.

Look very closely at the

Look very closely at the name of the POI file and the name of the BMP file. Make sure they are EXACTLY the same. Make sure the BMP file is 24X24 and the color depth is 256.

24x24 or smaller, and some claim that at least 1 side must be an even number of pixels. 256 colors. And if you have not yet fixed the "hide file extensions for known file types" "feature" of Windows, turn this off.

2D

My issue was not being in 2D mode. Once I set 2D mode then all of my custom POI icons showed up...
