Garmin talk

I use garmin edge 705 for the bike especially when I travel out of town. However, I would like to edit the start and stop point of routes downloaded. What is the easiest way or site to do this on. I prefer to use routes off mapmyride.com as they are usually loaded from riders in those areas where I am traveling. Thanks.

I am looking to replace my C340. I already have a Nuvi 780 and I want another Nuvi that is preferably a widescreen and must have the capability to input lat/long coordinates. I am trying to keep to the low end of the price spectrum so I am not planning on another 700 series. What would you recommend?

i notice a new speed camera on Barton ave in Chattanooga tn has anyone loaded it yet on the files i tried couple of months ago but it never pick up the speed camera when i approach it after i had downloaded the files on my nuvi 660 thanks guys i need help

I'm new to GPS and, up until this problem, it has all been good. The problem is, I downloaded from this site POI's for winerys in the Okanagan, BC, Canada. Loaded them just fine but when I look at them from my location (Edmonton, Alberta), the mileage (kilometers in this case) are wildly out. I'm approximately 1000kms from the wineries but my new Garmin 780 is showing 550 - 600kms.

Garmin went out of their way to help this guy out after he dropped his 260W and broke the screen!

Hi all, I purchased a Nuvi 360 two months ago and downloaded and installed the updated (2009) map. I ended up giving it to my mother-in-law who fell in love with it after borrowing it a couple times. I have now purchased another Nuvi 360 for myself and after registering it online, tried to download the 2009 map update. No go.

I noticed that my garmin will say I am traveling at 50 mph but my speedometer will always be 2 to 3 mph slower. Can I depend on the gps being more exact than my speedometer? I know your Tire size can affect this.

Does anyone know if the silicone jackets on ebay will fit the 765t? It says it fits the 200 series, but the size looks very comparable to the 765t.

I'm not sure if all the ports will match up or if there's any difference. I couldn't find any 700series specific items..

It all seems so simple...I read the directions for using the POI Loader...I thought I followed them correctly. I am obviously missing something(s)! This is frustrating. I am new to the GPS world. So...HELP!

Hi all, adding POI's got the best of me and I decided to remove all of the custom POI's. I use the POI Loader to remove all the custom POIs, but they're still there when I go to custom POIs. I deleted the poi.gpi file, but the custom POIs are still there even after I restarted the unit. Am I'm missing something, did I miss a step? This is a Nuvi 265WT

I just had my Magellan 1412 stolen, but was looking at the Garmin 260w now $169 @ Costco. Unfortunately I can't find a working 260w to play with, so I hope you can answer two questions for me:

1 - Can the 260 accept manual entry of lat/long coordinates like some of the more recent models?

Hello, to all members of POI Factory.
I have a Nuvi 670 and I had poi`s in the favorites file and when I turned the Gps off and turn on again and went to the favorites poi`s no longer there. One question, I forgot to save them in a file in the computer. Can I recover them? or I have to do another list and make sore that I save in the computer.

My 760 is still running FW v3.4, and I have no real issue with it. I need to update the map (still running 2008 map) and at the same time would like to update the voices too.

Now I've read all the horror stories here about updating the FW resulting in stuttering. How can I update map and voices without updating firmware?

I've read all the replies several times and I think I have it figured out. I'll download the files again using restareascombined.bmp and csv and wav. Thanks

Just want to check if you have the same issue with your unit. On my 660, I used to zoom out the map when navogating on a long route in order only to show the upcoming town, state, etc... It worked fine.

I was in NYC with time on my hands and so dropped into the Apple Store and looked at the new iPhone.

I got one of the fellows to walk me through the GPS functions of the iPhone and the one thing that struck me above all (I had my Garmain Nuvi 650 with me and was using it in the pedestrian mode) was the fantastic screen resolution.

This is my first posting! I use my C330 on my motorcycle and don't want to install another lighter socket. Has anyone hard wired the C330 without the 12 volt adapter?

I think this is a GREAT sight! I plan to use it alot!

I have a Nuvi 360 and when I try to charge the battery using the AC adapter, I got this: Serial Accessory require external power.
Before I was able to charge using the battery using the AC Adapter and now I got this issue. Please help..
