I've been searching online for info on the 885T but found very little useful info from actual users so I'm hoping that somebody here actually has this device.

Ok, I have been out of the whole GPSr scene for awhile. However, I want to buy a new GPSr that has the same features as my 350 and more (such as PSL). Which one is the best to get?

What are the steps of downloading poi's to sd card so gps device can read it. nuvi 255w

Get it via WebUpdater (as usual). I don't have this unit...I'm just passing along the info.

The speed and red light alerts have appeared on my media files and will play when my mp3 files are playing.I cant seem to erase them from my media file.
Does any body have any suggestions?

My handheld Etrex Venture CX has a feature that allows you to edit a waypoint (aka "favorite") by choosing "Reposition Here". What this does is change the location of the waypoint in the unit's memory, to your current location. Do any of the Nuvis have a similar feature? Frequently I will enter an address, and when I reach my destination I find that the coordinates are not accurate.

does anyone know if there is software to make the volume on the mp3 alerts all the same??!!

I recently updated my Nuvi 260 software and map. Currently I have software 5.00 and the latest 2009 map.

When I try to enter an address "Where to? ->Address" and type in the city, it always comes back with "No Matches Found".

However it will still work if I enter a favorite or a POI.

Has anyone else encountered this??

I have loaded all my custom POI on my new 265WT and they seem to go by them about 1 block before the alert sounds. I tried with Dunkin Donuts, B.of A. ATMs, and Starbucks. They all went by them. I used the built in POIs in the unit and had the same problems. On my 260 and my old 255W, they were right on. I thought that a newer model would be better.

Why doesn't it stop navigation when it reaches destination? I have a streetpilot c340 and does stop navigation when it reaches destination. I just got the nuvi 255w, but have updated to the latest software and the latest maps.

I have a Nuvi 265WT. When I use the Favorites, Edit, Attach Photo, to attach a photo to a favorite, I like that I get a smail preview of the photo on the left side of the view when I'm searching the list of favorites. How do I do the same with POIs?

I just got mine and am getting used to it. When I went online to register it I got the message "this unit has already been registered" What's up with that?

My Street Pilot 2720 has been a marvellous GPS now for 3 years, but I couldn't pass up the voice activation, next turn, and lane assist features. Don't know how I got along without them

Has anyone tried driving from near the Washington DC area to Baltimore, MD using US-29 going through Columbia?

This is the second time I'm trying it and the issue is still there even after map update from when I first noticed it in december.

I would like to make a mp3/wav file to use on my nuvi 255w that says something like..

Rest area 2 miles ahead, then says again Rest area 1 mile ahead.

IS THIS POSSIBLE? With a car full of females while travelling i would like to have PLENTY of notice for something like this?

Nuvi 200 has only about 2g internal memory built in without SD Card.

To get my 2009 map updates I had to get with tech support as it was going to be slightly more than 2G on the internal memory.

We had to erase some of the voice and instruction files for foreign countries to gain enough room.

I recently bought a 760 and really enjoy using it. The only complaint about the unit is that is gives the ETA to my destination point, but not the number of miles - I've looked through all the menus/settings options and cannot find a way to change it to miles. Does anyone know how this can be done - if at all?

Would this be overkill,

Backing up (copying) your GPS to a DVD as it just looks like another drive when I plug it in to my computer (E: drive). This would be in case I ever had a massive failure of the unit.

Or would it not be as simple as just copying the dvd of the entire system of the unit.

I thought that I had finally gotten past the reboot issue with my 765T when I upgraded to firmware 3.0, but yesterday while playing a 25 minute mp3, it happened again.

And unlike the times in the past when it restarted itself, and resumed the route, this time I was not on a route, only in map mode.
