I just ordered a Nuvi 255W to replace my Streetpilot c330. I've already got a friction mount for the Streepilot. Will it work with the Nuvi, or do I need to buy a new friction mount?

I have a Nuvi 350 and wanted to know if there is any limit to the number of tourguides that I can create. I currently have one for NcDonalds but am interested in creating others.

Invaild string, I have XP svc pk 3 with all the updates, poiloader 2.5.2, it will delete my custom poi in extras, but will not reload them. i have tried 2.5.3 same problem,

Just exactly what I would want to do with that paticular POI!!

My searching for instructions have netted me some good information, but I still have questions.....

First.... Which Garmin's support "Tour Guide" Features?
Obviously I'm concerned about the Nuvi 660....

I was able to load up some custom POI's and I found the instructions for loading custom sounds. Not sure if I did it right yet though.

But i was wondering if loading custom icons works the same way?

I may be incorrect on this, but I think for the first time, the "altitude" setting of the map detail is now shown on the main screen when the map is displayed. I know I never noticed it before the recent upgrade. This certainly makes it much quicker to return to a desired level of detail.

I want to back up my Garmin. Its obvious where the POI's I loaded are stored but I cant figure out where the Favorites folder is.

This version supposedly adds support for downloadable content. I haven't seen any such content for the Rino (beyond maps), but I did update my unit yesterday. So far no problems.

The Wal-Mart in Pontotoc, MS Store #164 has not been located where it is shown on my Garmin in 3 years. They built a new supercenter and shut down the old one some 3 years ago and it's not even close to where the old one was. How can I change this on my Garmin Nuvi 660?

I have a 265wt GPS, and when I erase previously Red Light & Speed Cameras, & then download the new updated ones, it erases my address book, sometimes. Anyone have had the same problem, or have any suggestions? Thanks for any insight!

You may have noticed my posts regarding my 265 going nuts in other posts over a couple of months. Since I was on the road and needed it, I didn't contact Garmin for an RMA. Was doing that when I was advised of an update. Device required rebooting 2 times after each incident was required to make it usable.

Garmins update for the 2X5 series has corrected all of its problems.

Costco Canada is selling the nuvi 785T for $299 Cdn.
Just wanted to find out if the 785T will show the up coming street's name on top? I know the 765T won't..Thanks!

Just got back from a 1700 miles trip into New Mexico. My 260 worked as it always does all the way to Albuquerque. When we were leaving the hotel on our way to the Balloon Fiesta, I moved sharply from the middle lane all the way over to the left most left turn lane. Karen got completely lost and the only way to recover was to reboot her.

I recently purchased a 1300WT. Just out of curiosity I went into the system properties and found the following.

System capacity: 1.810 GB
Used capacity: 1.540 GB
Free capacity: .280 MB

Garmin is supporting PDF maps for Colorado, Oregon, and Dakota devices.

I've had a Garmin Nuvi 760 for about 16 months and the battery no longer holds a charge. Garmin will replace the gps unit for $99. This is a real disappointment, as it makes the cost of operating the unit ridiculous. I've seen videos on self serve battery replacement, but the battery numbers don't match.

I need a lesson and some advice! I'm full of questions...

Here is what I want to do: I want the CRACKER BARREL POI to alert me from 2 miles away as I travel close-by on the Interstate highways (but not on the actual address road of the restaurants). I also want to use a .wav file for the alert notice. And the .bmp icon if possible.

Have had my nuvi 255w for a yr. now and am very dissatisfied with performance. Makes mistakes on the road, and says "recalculating". Can't find my church in my hometown,that has been there for years. Coming home from Shelby N.Carolina and out of the clear blue says "recalculating", and the map shows highlighted route straight ahead.

I just got a replacement 755T and it's new not refirbed. I'm told I get one free map update so if anyone knows what is the newest and/or when is a new one due out?

I also got a new power cord so I think my old one may be of use for someone. Can anyone enlighten me?
