Proximity Alert Customization

I'm trying to configure my poi proximity alerts so that the audio is played ONLY when we arrive at destination. Currently, it will play even when passing by an address that is configured as a POI but not as a destination.

I've tried renaming the mp3 files without the "TourGuide" filename string before using POI loader, but it still happens.

This is a major annoying problem...and it's causing me to quit using audio proximity alerts all together.

My current test platform is the Garmin Nuvi 650 NA. Has anybody run into this issue and been able to solve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site poideveloper39 .When you set up the alerts that is the way they work.According to Gary A who has a 660 selecting single tone for the alert will not work.You still get a continuous alert.The only suggestions I have it like you say turn off the alerts or limit the number you have.If you select go to with no alerts it gives you arrival message once you reach the coordinates.You could also make a mp3 recording with no sound and set that up with the alerts.That way all you get will be the message on the screen using go to or navigating by one that alerts are set up for.
