nuvi 885t refurb for $220 right now on Buy.Com

I just bought another one for a backup. $219.00 is too cheap to resist. Has a 30 day return policy and Garmin 90 day warranty.

I have purchased many items from Buy.Com and never had one single problem.

Heck... you're going to pay $90 if all you bought was the MSN receiver.... so it's like you're getting the GPS unit for $130.

I like it but it is too late now.

That's why I bought it. No tax, no shipping and spare battery and MSN receiver, If I need them. Cheap, cheap, cheap. I knew they would sell out FAST!

They ran an even better deal about two month ago on this 885t.... it was $199 for a refurb. They sold out within hours.

I suspect that all of these refurbs are merely the units that got caught with that bad firmware that made them keep cycling thru the update procedure.

They were returned to Garmin who fixed 'em up and put them up as large lots of refurbs.

Apparently they come out looking brand new.

If I see them go on sale like this again... I'll post ASAP.

If you are referring to the problem in June that caused all the 7x5 units to brick, I don't think that affected the 8x5 units. I have been wondering myself where all the 8x5 refurbs are coming from. The 855 refurbs have been selling like mad from a couple of suppliers on e-Bay in the $185 to $205 range.
