New to GPS

I just got my first GPS: a Garmin 205W.

It's pretty basic, but for $129, I thought it was a good deal, especially with the wider 4.3" screen. So far If just been making trips around town, but it's an impressive little device. I can't wait till I take a road trip or even a place in town that I haven't been to yet just to test it out.

Anyone else have any experience with the 205? Any suggestions for a noob? I'd love to get speed traps and lights download - do they really work?

Any help or advcie for maximizing this goody would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site Steve you may want to start at the FAQ at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6656 .Once you become a active member http://www.poi-factory.com/node/262 you will be able to download the redlight and speed camera files or pay a small fee if you can't wait. You can download any other files now.The redlight and speed cameras files are updated weekly by Miss Poi and work very well.Your 205 does not play mp3 so if you want to get voice alerts you can use wav files .You need to do some set up on your computer first.Once you browse around and get used to the site fire back if you have any questions.
