1. update firmware?
2. accure sat ?
3. download map update?

Yes to all of the above...

Yes to all of the above... one issue I had with that model was low volume made it hard to hear in the car... I was able to use TTS voice editor to increase the volume on the voices I use... works great for me...

I just got my new 785t from Costco... and I heard of the problem with the not so loud speaker. So I wanted to make it a bit louder.

Not all

I have an 765t and do not have the problem with volume. I believe the difference is which power connector you get, either the FM or MSN receiver.
