Nuvi 300 missing file

Your missing or have a corrupted English British.vpm file.

Attach your Nuvi to your PC and go to the directory on your called Garmin\Voice. If one exists, delete the file called English British.vpm and English British.sum.

Now, while your Nuvi is still attached to the PC, run updater again. It should show the English British voice as an available update. Download the file and you should be back in business, although you may need to go into the Settings and select the English British voice you just installed.

Have deleted the English britsh.vpm and run updater
but no English british available.It only says update to version 6.10 and additional update on traffic and g firmware and that's it..done that but problem still persists

Go to https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/customers/myGarminHome.faces and click on myDashboard at top of page and follow the instructions to install updates.

But why do that? It will download the same things that Webupdater does but without the user having any control,or even, any idea what is being downloaded and installed on his/her Nuvi.

It will put back all the voice files,help files and text files.I usually use webupdater myself because you don't get a choice with Dashboard but in this case it may be the only thing that can be done to put them back.

Tried the garmin site.. it update the firmware but still problem not solved. The 'Locale icon' still says none found..is there any possibilty some system file missing or hardware problem??but the mp3 works fine
and satellite reception is fine but no voice or instruction..it really baffels me

Hook the gps up to your comptuter using the usb cable.Go to my computer and click on the drive for the gps.Click on the Garmin folder then the voice folder.Do you find any voice files?
