Garmin talk

I have quite a lot of POIs saved up on my SD card. The problem is that I don't wish to go through the hassle of reloading them all again.

Is there a way or an app out there that can just add POI to my collection on my Nuvi without having it be saved as a waypoint?

I am still using Garmin Mobile XT on my Pharos GPS Phone 600. I occasionally even use it as a phone when I put in my T-Mobile pre-paid SIM card. Typically I use it as a small GPS with wifi built in. Anyway, for those of you that have Windows Mobile devices, what are your favorite freeware or shareware applications? I am not looking to replace Garmin Mobile XT, but rather to supplement it.

My first post on your forum!

I purchased two Garmin Nuvi 260's locally - both had a broken USB connector on the PCB.

I was able to resolder one to the board and it works as expected. The other one will require a replacement USB connector.

I just received my new Oregon 300, I will use it for the fist time this week end.
Did any body tried it yet and what is your experience whit it?

My sister just recently purchase a Nuvi 855 and she likes most of the features on it, but the voice on the unit seems off, it sounds like its under water, except for the British guy, is that normal?

I can not get my Toshiba satellite to down load CSV files. I tried loading addtional software as recommended to no avail. I was trying to down load the rest stops.

Any suggestions??

Is there any way to reach FM 87.9?

The lowest seems to be 88.1.

I ordered the 755T but unfortunately did not notice the statement below until after ordering;
"Like most USB mass storage devices, the nüvi is not compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows Me."

I downloaded all of the POI files for the rest stops combined as well as the icon and the voice that says "Rest stop ahead" I have installed the file with POI loader but is there a way to get the icon up when you hit points of interest? And . . . is there a way to have it tell me (proximity alert) when I get near one? Thanks for helping a newbie out!

Hi, I'm new to this form, so I tried to do a search but did not find an answer to my problem, I have a Garmin 885T GPS that I just got working with Bluetooth and my phone (LG AX8600) Alltel, all was working fine then I uploaded some POI and software and now the phone won't pair up with the GPS, is there an EZ fix for this? or should I call Garmin. Any problems or feedback on the new Garmin Nuvi 1350

I'm using a garmin XT (w/ nokia via 3G internet) and i think the traffic reporting is somewhat delayed. if i compare it to google's traffic info, my XT always seems to report more traffic than there is. i think it might a be an issue with refreshing the traffic data, but i don't see an option to refresh data.

Recently, I found out that audio files (imported music) on my Garmin c550 GPS device are impossible to delete since directory with files is untraceable. I can still choose and play music on device itself, but when connected to PC with USB cable it shows only one (main) directory and no subfolder with audio files.

Ok, this is a noob question, but I'm doing the Escape New York Century ride Saturday, and a ride organizer emailed me a .gpx file of the ride map, and I've been trying to upload it onto Garmin's online map site, and then download it onto my GPS, and I've converted it using MapMyRide's software into a .crs file and a .tcx file.

If I have a POI file in my custom POI folder like "Walmart No Parking" (csv format) and I have another POI file like "RV Unfriendly Locations" (gpx format) in the same custom folder and there is a location in each of the files that has the same GPS co-ordinates, will that cause some kind of conflict on my nuvi while I'm driving along the road and pass by that particular location?

I have a new Nuvi 265WT that I've had less than a month and only used a few times. When I turn it on the screen goes to "Loading Maps" and stays there not turning on. I have to turn it off by holding the button for several seconds and then turn it back on. It turns on properly the 2nd time. I have to do this procedure everytime now. I did not have this problem when I first started using it.
