Hi,

I recently got a nuvi 260W and bought the 2010 Europe city navigator on SD. Up until a few minutes ago it was happily recognizing the map (I could see it listed under Settings->Map->Map Info), and now my nuvi is behaving weirdly and not recognizing it.

I downloaded the trial version last night and today created a route and used the supposed function to send the route to my 465T and all it sent was the waypoints. Big deal! I guess I'll continue using GPSBabel to convert the route to a *.gpx and then load it into the GPX folder in the 465T.

What is the socket on the side of the car adapter/ speaker used for on the 27XX series Streetpilots? I can find no documentation of what might go into the socket. I opened the case and it is two wires that go back to the plug at the GPS end.

It seems that many people here have a lot of experience with garmins, and editing files, etc., so I have a few questions for you all:

1. If I purchase a map on an SD card can I use it on more than one nuvi? (Obviously I can't use one card in both at the same time)

Does anyone know how far off the route will a Garmin show as a POI?

While driving home on I-75, I selected a food POI on my 255W with the Search Near set for "MY CURRENT ROUTE". The restraunt selected did not have the same road name as the exit and when I got off at the exit, I pulled into another that was close.

Anyone else using Windows 7 Ultimate having a problem with Windows wanting to format their Garmin device?

I've been getting the error lately. It pops up on the screen saying "This device is formated improperly. Do you want to format it now?" Of course I don't. But I'm worried that one day I'll be clicking through the screens and click on the format button.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 200 that suddenly started acting up.
Initially, it said that something I attached was not an appropriate accessory.. That didn't sound good since it was plugged in to the car power plug

I have lost the SDHC card from my Garmin nuvi 255w. What should I do ????

Firmware 3.10 has been out since August 28 for the eTrex Legend HCx and several other eTrexes have similarly dated firmware updates:

I did a reset and lost all my POIs I had entered. I noticed a folder of archived gpx files. I moved one to the the top folder and renamed it to current and moved the original current file..anyways it did not work..anyway I can recover my old Favorites list?

I went on a road trip with my KNA-G510. Which has worked great! However this weekend it was sending me the wrong way to my destinations? Sent me over ramps from the freeway just to have make a u-turn using the ramp to go in the direction I had just came from.

I just got a brand new Nuvi 260W. The only cable it came with was for the car, but I had a compatible USB cable on hand and was able to use the POI Loader to put a couple POI files on it. Will it charge while attached to the computer? I didn't see anything in the manual speaking about how to charge it at all.

Anyway I get this mode to speed up to test my redlight POIs..the closest to home is 30 miles. Using a Nuvi 205.

I went to the trouble to put a 12vdc to 5vdc regulator in my motorcycle so I could charge my Phone and Garmin 260W GPS. No surprise that when the phone is plugged in the phone charges. Disconnect the phone and plug the 206W in and BIG SURPRISE... It thinks it's connected to a computer. It does charge, but I can't use it while it charges.

is it possible to route to a zip code on the nuvi's?

nuvi 7x0 firmware update v4.90 released October 5, 2009

Available via WebUpdater or direct firmware update download (at individual unit links below). Note that all 7x0 series units use the same firmware update file regardless of the model number so it does not really matter which file you download. I've included all links regardless.

Wondering if anyone out there has tried Topo maps with DEM and City Navigator together in their Nuvi. I saw just such a captured shot the other day when researching the newest Topo Canada maps. Really cool. If anyone has tried this on their Nuvi, how about posting a screen capture and giving details on installation etc. City Navigator with shading..... really nice.

Well ive read and tried to get a .bmp file to work with my relight POIs. Ive named the file exactly as the POIs with the .bmp but dosent show. I understand its suppose to be uploaded with my files when I do this but I must be missing something..any ideas

Does anyone know of any software that will let you merge all of your tracklogs together into one trip? For example when you go on a trip each time the unit is turned off it creates a new tracklog. How do you merge these all into 1 tracklog so you can generate stats on miles driving etc? Thank You
