Converting to Garmin 1450

I'm retiring my Garmin C530 GPS and replacing it with the Garmin 1450, and I've got a couple of questions.

1. I load several hundred of custom POI's on the C530. Can I use the exact same POI LOAD program that loads the C530 on the 1450?

2. Can I use the exact same .csv files that I use on the C530 on the 1450?

3. Are there any differences (besides the obvious) that I should be aware of before using the 1450 for real?

Answers/comments from actual 1450 users would be greatly appreciated.

Last time I looked there was only one POI Loader program that came in PC and Mac versions. I haven't seen any POI files that say they are specific for one particular version of Garmin GPS so why would you think there were something different? The only caveat may be to install SOX so you can use wav audio alerts.

Yes, it will worked but what do I know...

cool

Been using the 1450 about five weeks Love it

Don't know much about the C530 but the 1450 will work with the following apps.

Extra_POI_Editor_V460
MapSource_6161
POILoaderforWindows_254
VoiceStudio_210
WebUpdaterforWindows_242
Any POI file found on this website(in a Garmin format)

It will not play your MP3s or give bad trafic reports. It will play wav. with the help of SOX

C530 to 1450

I did exactly that 2 weeks ago, replaced my C530 with the 1450. Using POI Loader, I uploaded the same POI files onto my 1450, just as I used to do before, without any problems.

I did exactly that 2 weeks ago

Thanks for the feedback. I successfully loaded all of my custom POI's and used the 1450 for the first time a couple of nights ago. No problems whatsoever and I really liked the text-to-speech function.
I didn't try the lane assist or junction view functions because I hadn't had a chance to read the manual and I didn't know know how to use them. I've read the manual since, and I'm hot to trot to see how those two things work. Can hardly wait.

Hoping

I get my new 1450 in two days, according to Fedex, and hope the transition from a 350 is just as smooth.

Good for you.

And for the others with a new nuvi 1450, note that although the nuvi comes with a Quick Start Guide, for the Owner's Manual, you need to download it from Garmin:
