Garmin talk

I recently did a Mapquest Route and it shows it being uploaded to my Nuvi 260. Where does this Route appear on my GPS when I want to use it? I thought is was under "Favorites" but I don't see it.

I was using my Nuvi 200 tonight when I noticed that the display was delaying showing my position. It would just freeze for a few seconds, then catch up, freeze again and then catch up. It works fine in the map mode( no destination entered). Any ideas? Thanks everyone.

How do I get the sounds that I download from this site to work on the Garmin 255W? I've changed the sound file name to match the POI file name but all I hear is the standard 'beeb-beeb' alert sound. Is there some setting that I'm missing? Thanks.

Bought a refurb 1490t off of ebay. Spent 45 minutes on the phone with garmin to get my map update (currently on 2010.10). On mygarmin.com it says at the top

I haven't loaded this onto my nuvi yet. I was wondering If I wait till the 2011.20 update, would I be able to download that instead?

I just completed a 2,000 mile road trip on the east coast running a 760 (paid traffic) and a new 265WT (free traffic). I'll tell ya, the reporting from these two units, side by side, is vastly different to the point that it's disconcerting and even confusing. The 760 tends to over-report, I think the 265WT is very conservative when it comes to reporting delays.

Is any one else having this problem and if so; does any one else know how to cure it?

Is there an "easy" way to create playlists on Garmin? Creating a playlist using the Garmin 755t seems to be very difficult.

Hi new guy here. I am glad I found this site, it will come in handy next summer during our motorcycle/canping trip thru the states. I have a question:: when I downloaded the rest areas poi's I did not see them on my Nuvi 855 extras. I do see the diners, drive in and dives poi's in a custom poi folder. Anyone know if the rest srea pois will just show up on the map or.....

I'm looking for a chime tone similar to what you hear when you're on a plane and they turn on the fasten seatbelt signs.

Just a nice mellow double or single chime.

Most of the sounds in the POI library are too complex or have voice messages.

anyone know where you could find mellow, simple sounds like I'm describing?

Hey guys. I was wondering about something concerning Navteq's map reporter site. Here's the thing: I've made 2 corrections in the past 6 months, and both have been "resolved" but neither of them have been added to Navteq's map database online.

I have a friend who wants me to take his Quickbooks contacts and add them to his favorites on his GPS unit. What will it take for me to do this? Can I overwrite the existing current.gpx file with my own? Is there a better way of doing it?

I think he has a Garmin Nuvi 255.

I'm new to the nuvi series and would like to tinker around with some of the POI files.

I've read the beginner/newbie instructions and understand the process, but haven't see the POI destination specifically addressed.

I have a microSD card in my 1690 and plan to put my POI files there unless there's an operational penalty in doing so.

I bought City Navigator Europe NT 2011 for my Canadian Garmin - doesn't recognize the card - what should I do

I used Garmin's POI Loader to download a gpx format POI file. Worked fine loading to my Zumo 660 but not to Mapsource. POI Loader finished successfully but I can't see the POIs using Mapsource Find function. My PC operating system is Vista. The POI file was installed under my user profile. (C:\Users\Jim\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\CustomPOIs\H-D Dealers.gpi).

1) When I loaded a poi file into my Garmin, the file went into "extras" as a custom poi. I tried to install another file, and it appeared that it overwrote the other custom poi file....or I could not find it. What did I do wrong?

Okay, I'm trying to update my Nuvi 765T from v3.6 to the new 4.00. When I connect the unit, Web Updater tells me that it can't find the device. I know I saw this issue come up a while ago, but I never had the problem before as it always found it, and I can't remember what the solution for it was.

I downloaded the Schools of southeast file with no real problem, but can't seem to download and install the two icons(school zones and schools) can anyone help. I have a nuvi1390T

Does anyone own a Garmin Nuvi 3790t. I would like to
know if POI files and red camera files work on this unit.
I was thinking on purchasing this nuvi but would like any feedback or comments from users who have this Garmin Nuvi 3790t.
