I just wonder how many other people out there find animated icons annoying and distracting. My tendency is to scroll on past such messages.

I live in Miami. I was driving to the beach this morning. I got two RLC warning on the way there (heading north) but not a peep before the same intersections heading back south on Biscayne Blvd....strange....anyone got the answer? The cam only takes the pictures on one side? 3 lanes each directions....

Can someone tell me what the Chipset Type M Hotfix Data is?

Hi all -
Is there any way to replace and/or update a factory installed 2009 City Navigator Map with a "full version" 2011 Map that I have on a micro SD card?
There are only three files on the card:
-gmapsupp.gma; gmapsupp.img and gmapsupp.unl.

I've had my 1690 for about a month now. It seems lately that when I have the 1690 connected to my Windows 7 PC and eject it (from safely remove hardware) that the GPS continues to display the connection screen instead of changing to the operational mode so I can work with it while it charges. I think I remember that is used to do this early on.

If I get the update from Best Buy, does it just add to the original map or does it replace the whole file?
I have a NUVI 350, If it adds to the file, will there be enough room on the unit itself or does it have to add to a SD card. I have a 2Gig card that I use for POIs.

While traveling on I35 today I was getting the next exit ahead on the green bar at the top of the screen. Is this new or have I just never noticed? I am usually on a route and the bar displays the next turn. No luck on next street up.

I have just loaded 2011 Eastern N/America as the whole map won't fit in my 250W. When I go to maps in TOOLS it shows my original 2009 North America and Eastern N America 2011both have check marks.Now should I uncheck the 2009 or just leave it as both checked?

I am occasionally getting an error message on my Nuvi 760 that my maps are out of date. I have the lifetime map updates and keep it updated. Is there anything I can do to stop these spurious error messages?

I have a c550 and want to do a 2011 map update does the unit have enough room for the update. Has anyone with a c550 updated their unit

I got my 3790T for almost a week and been driving around with it, love the slim and the screen but there something I dislike and missing features:

The profile of the unit is so thin, that make it so delicate and easy broken.

The screen made by glass so therefor you will see lots of fingerprints residual.

Bulky FM and power cord.

Power button require lot of pressure when pressing.

After Ii did the 2011.2 map update Ii checked Webupdater to see what was updated/not updated since old map updates required a firmware update first but this one did not. I found a Chipset M hotfix update listed. It did not say what was being updated. I took it and also got a timezone update.

Any ideas what was updated?

I found the POI for Marriot Hotels, but it does not contain the specific hotel that I'm looking for. The hotel has been built since the POI was last updated. I am new to both my Garmin (Nuvi 225W) and writing POIs, so I am not ruling out user error. Can someone please just tell me where I'm going wrong. I'm saving an excel file as .csv, and it contains this:

Going to pickup a BMW 128i convertible in Munich 1 Sept. Taking my old Nuvi 260 (My 1490T is too big to fit on dash), with Europe SD maps. I don't speak German, but wondering if I should load German text?

Do I need that to be able to input addresses, attractions, etc.

Actually, will be doing Germany, Austria, Italy and France for a month. Maybe I should load all these texts?

Is there a way to get Route Numbers displayed on the screen vice the road name equivelent. Before I got the Nuvi 1490T, I was using a TomTom and it gave me the route numbers (i.e. PA Route 74) which was very nice. The Nuvi gives me Carlisle Road instead of Route 74. On any map it Route 74. I didn't even know it was called the Carlisle Road. Any ideas? Tks!
