Extra POIs for my new 1490T question

I just purchased a new 1490T. I knew it would only hold about 1000 custom POI. The POI file I use contain over 2000 POIs. So how can I utilize the microSD chip to hold this extra data and be accessible by the 1490 (or can it do that? The chip is 8 gig. I have POI loader and Mapsource along with Extra POI Edit and g7towin but can't seem to figure out how to use the chip other than holding and viewing pictures. My old garmin 2720 works great with all the extra data. I miss it.
PS how do you remove the offers that come in to this annoying feature? Traffic is now turned off.

1490t

When I look at the specs for the 2720 it shows holding 2000 favorites and for 1490 it hows 1000.May be jumping the gun here but are you talking about adding to favorites? Not custom pois you find listed on gps.Where to,extras and touching custom pois last. The unit should hold plenty of custom pois.

If favorites is the problem. You can just make a file using the custom poi method see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 and add them to the unit.If you prefer to use the sd card to hold them use the drop down window to select it.It is listed in instructions. You will have to go to custom pois instead of favorites to use them.If you plan to set up alerts and want voice for them you will need wav files for that.

You could also use the Extra Poi Editor http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor program and load the file to it using open garmin favorites under file and edit as needed and save as a gpx or csv file then add as a custom poi.

There is no limit to Custom POI. The limitation you're reading is for Favorites.
