I recently purchased a used Nuvi 760 and it is now registered with Garmin in my name. I had to purchase lifetime maps for my StreetPilot c530, do I have to do this with this Nuvi or are the maps upgraded free?

You have to buy new maps for the new 760.You have 1 free map up date within 60 days of turning on the new gps,then you will have to purchase maps if you want the maps updated.

New Maps
The life time maps that are included with you Nuvi are only good for that Nuvi you have. When that model is no longer supported your life time maps have now died.

The life time maps that are included with you Nuvi are only good for that Nuvi you have. When that model is no longer supported your life time maps have now died.
"No longer supported" has many different meanings. The lifetime updates are available for a unit until it no longer functions, until the map supplier changes, or until the format of the map changes - which is pretty much saying they changed suppliers. Some people think "discontinued" means no longer supported when it actually means "no longer manufactured."

He purchased the life time updates for his c530 he wanted know if he had to purchase them for the 760. Which in this case he doesn't get a free upgrade or free lifetime maps. He will have to purchase the lifetime maps.
