Hello and thank you for the opportunity to discuss issues I have with my new Garmin. First off, I would like to say that I am very satisfied with my new Garmin 1450. I have been using the Nuvi200w for several years and was also very satisfied.

Have been a member here for a while but not really active as I have been happy with my 255W I bought a few years back. I have been bitten by the upgrade buy and have bought 2 units in the last week, so not sure which to keep:

1390LMT-bought at Costco for $149
2350LMT-bought at Best Buy for $149

I have a 765t, which of course already has the free Navteq lifetime traffic subscription, but I was wondering if anybody who has purchased the clear channel traffic subscription thinks it is worth the buy. I did notice Clear Channel covers a a bit more cities than the Navteq traffic coverage, but does the Clear Channel subscription provide more accurate traffic data than Navteq?

I just replaced my nuvi 660 with a 2555LMT. I downloaded my poi's to the new unit, but I'm getting the "tone" instead of the voice ".wav" file that is attached to the file. What did I do wrong in the setup?

I replaced the battery for 610 Nuvi only to find that the unit does not now start up. There was a garmin logo for 30seconds which flashed on and off and then nothing. If anyone can help me trouble shoot this then I would really appreciate some help.

I for one really liked it, traffic was fairly accurate... I looked at stocks every day, enjoyed sending directions wireless to my GPS. Radar was clunky but useable. Movie times and even flight schedules were a convenience to me.

Too bad there is not a replacement for it with all the same functionality.

I have been getting this error message. It started yesterday using 2.7 so I decided to try using 2.61 on a different drive and still same error message. Poi Loader starts to create the file and then half way through the process, I get this error message: "There Was an unexpected error during the creation of the Custom POIFile. Any seen this error?

I recently replaced the battery in my nuvi 660 and in the process, the screen and touchscreen connectors came off. After reconnecting the ribbon cables, I now have a very dim screen and a line going across the screen. Any ideas at to what I'm doing wrong?

Also, to make matters worse, now my volume level (that you hear when you press the touch screen)is really quiet. HELP!

I have 5 Garmin Nuvi units, 255W, 750, 1300, 1450 & 1490.

On the 255W and the 750 I have no trouble accessing and routing from my installed "Custom POIs". I simply select one of the custom POIs and I am given options to "map it" or "Go To". Just like I am from the pre-installed POIs.

But in the 1300, 1450 & 1490 I am not given an option to "Go To"??? Here is what happens;

I am getting this for my birthday on Saturday to replace my old 760 (still going strong).
I had noticed on reviews on Amazon etc that people were having issues updating the maps.
If fact that was the main complaint (and the 2455).
Is it better to use MyGarmin Account to update or should I download the WebUpdater and it instead?

Anyone know if Garmin will be making firmware enhancements (as they promised) so the 37XX series will handle multi-point routes? I mean GPX or CSV files with multiple points in sequence (such as a TourGuide).

Is it better to lump the 2 files (RLC & speed cameras ) under one folder or divide them in sub folders?

A couple times a year I update a batch of Garmin GPS units (several different models). I upload the POI to a SD card and then update the units which has worked great. However, I had to get a new computer which then the file to generate the POI file has changed locations. Instead of overriding the POI file on the GPS, it creates a new one.

Does anyone know how to open diagnostic mode on the new Garmins like the 2500 series?
In the old ones you can do that by pressing the battery indicator icon for a few seconds.

I own a 765t, which I like very much. My only complaint about it, and the rest of them I have seen, is, they dont have a customizable "favorites" folder, or "shortcuts" folder, with easy access to files, via a single button from the navigation screen. I am 60 years old, and bathroom breaks have become more frequent and need to be planned out more than they used to be.

I have a Garmin 255W without lifetime maps. To add lifetime maps would cost me $90. Seems to me that a newer Garmin with lifetime maps would be a better option since it is now over 2 years old. What do you think?

BTW, it can be a Magellan or a TomTom, as long as it does the job.

Would like to wish everyone A Merry Christmas. I know it's been a tough year for a lot of people, but hopefully things will start to get better in the upcoming months (please don't start with the bashing of the President!) There is rumor on one of European forums about new version of CN for Europe. It will probably have number 2012.40. As they say, should be released in about month (no link as it isn't english language forum). No big changes in coverage.

As usual question is when CN NA 2012.40 will be released.

I downloaded the Harley Davidson POI to my Nuvi 50LM but now every dealership in the US appears in my favorites. How do I move them to their own category?
