Garmin talk

We pulled out the GPS yesterday to get to a place we hadn't been to before and it reported that we were in a totally different location - at least 15 miles from where we actually were. It also kept losing satellite reception and/or displaying "poor satellite reception".

I've recently took my 2620 out of mothballs, and I tried to look at its files the same way I can do with my nuvi 760 & 1490T. When I connect the 2620 to my PC, I get the sound indicating it has been recognized, but there is no listing of it as a drive under My Computer, and I don't know how to look at the files. Is there a way to look at my 2620 files?

how do you change gpx to csv?? I want to download the
Truckstop/rv fuel stations and it only has gpx neither Mac or windows can read this file. We have a garmin 3790.

I find when I use my gps to get to a specific destination and on reaching that destination to return home it does not repeat the same route. Have I set my gps wrong?

I was about to purchase a 3790 until I read that it would not accept routes from the mapping programs.

An inquiry to Garmin CS about units that would accept routes was responded to with the statement that the 3700 series were the only products that lacked this feature.

My Nuvi 650 died, but I had a poi factory file for red lights which flashed the banner at the top of the screen red.
My replacement is a nuvi 1690. I updated it POI over the weekend. The audio alert works fine but the banner does not flash red. How can I make it flash red for alerts? Thanks.

My grand daughter got ahold of our Garmin Street Pilot c330 and ever since when it says "enter state" it remains bland. I have reset the unit and reloaded the software and still no states. When I try to type in the state it goes to another page with, you guessed it, no states. Can anyone give me any more ideas or is it over for me?

My cell phone - it only knows how to make phone calls.
No internet, no smarts, no apps.
I can go several days without charging it. At work, everyone is constantly charging their "smart" phones.

My GPS is a 750 Nuvi - it just
- helps get me where I am going
- finds the nearest Subway on my route to eat lunch
- warns me of speed cameras (thanks to POI Factory)

I need some advise on POI. I don't have any custom built POI on my 1490T because when I hit where to > extras> there is none. However when I am in the city symbols like POI kept popping up on the map. Its like its alerting me. Are there default POI built internally? If so how can I disable them or get rid of them so I get no unwanted alerts?

I am frustrated by the latest update. I waited a long time hoping bugs would be corrected so I'm just jumping on this upgrade from 2011.4. A search in the forum didn't turn out many answers (most related to junction view which don't apply to my unit) so I'm asking the community I learned a lot from.

Do the Nuvis invert routes?
I only see the manually reordering the waypoints.
Many other mapping systems have auto invert.

I built a fairly complicated route in a National Forest using Forest Service roads. Worked great.
On our return trip,pulled up the route and expected to just invert to find the way out. The only thing I could see was manually reorder the points.

The Android Tablet and the Garmin GPS

I am directing this to OWNERS of 10.1 Android Tablets (3.0+) that have BUILT IN (no docking station) USB connections as they will be the authorities as they can TEST on their own units -- alleviating guesses and suppositions.

My nuvi 660 flip antenna stop working,(external antenna will work) I've looked and look on the Internet, but I cannot find one to buy.

Is there any way I can import all my friends info into address files using my computer? It is a pain to enter everyone on the touch screen and then going back to edit in the phone numbers.

What is the best dash board friction mount (bean bag) for my Garmin 2360? I have read older topics in this forums. I got confused looking at the Amazon web site with so many types available. I will be using it in my truck on and off road.

I uploaded the .csv files and related .mp3 files for speed traps and red light cameras using the POI loader but the unit does not give voice alerts.

The same uploads on a 650 work, calling out "Speed Trap Ahead" and "Red light camera ahead".

Do I need to have the sound files in another format?

I,m new to webb site. I down loaded custom POI for

walmart and sams. Installed it correctly. When I pulled up a certain Walmart location, screen didn,t show "Go". How should these custom POI work. I saw the cemetary tutorial on this webb site, I was under the assumtion they work like the tutorial.

I just used Jill yesterday for the first time since I updated to the new map.

While I have just the map up with no route, on the top bar the unit is calculating from 1 to 100% constantly. As soon as it reaches 100% it starts all over again. This is covering up where the names of the upcoming streets are.

Anyone know what is going on. Do I have something set wrong?
