1490 LT had problems with Bluetooth using Blackberry

I occasionally have my Blackberry connected to my GPS for hands free talking. Last week when I got it connected, I could not get rid of the symbol in the corner of the GPS that meant I was using the phone.
When I tapped that, one of the options is to HangUp. This didn't work.

Hanging up my Blackberry by pressing the red phone didn't work either.

I tried a bunch of things -- disabling blue tooth on both devices; rebooting both devices, switching to handset use.

Finally I tried making a call on my Blackberry itself. That worked. And when I hung up, the icon in the corner finally went away.

I never had such problems. Only worry is that GPS doesn't show my contacts list.

The GPS never shows my

The GPS never shows my contacts list because of the security on my Blackberry.

1490 is useless with the bluetooth

After many frustrating lost connections I have totally given up on the bluetooth feature. I have come to terms with the fact that the bluetooth is junk on the 1490.

Are we there yet?

fine with my phones

it works well with my phones.. only thing is, it does not display CALLER ID for incoming calls.

Just fine

Mine works just fine. No contacts, but caller id is shown. Only problem is when I get off the car and comes back in while GPS is on, it doesn't automatically pair with Blackberry.

.

That happens with all BT devices. They stop searching after a while to save battery power.

I also had problems with 1490T and my old cell. This was over a year ago and I have since changed to a blackberry and have also since updated the software on the 1490. I have not tried the blutooth yet, but let you know. When I tried it before, the connection worked, but the volume was too low and it would not import contacts.

No Luck

Never could get my 1490 to hook up properly with my Droid X even though it was on the Garmin approved list..

Reset

I was driving - I touched the map to view the map in 2-D view, and when I tried to drag the map, my 1490T reset. Anyone else have this problem?

Limited luck

My 1490t would connect, but would not import contacts. the other issue was that when making handsfree calls, the volume was way too low and I had to pick up the phone anyway to be able to hear.

.

As much as I am dissatisfied with my 1490T, I have to say that the Bluetooth works fairly well. The sound quality isn't that good (incoming and outgoing), but it usually works. The phone's phonebook usually shows up on the GPS, but not always, and sometimes after a while. But I have a large contact list (approx. 2,000 entries), so maybe it takes a while to load all that data. My GPS does NOT display caller id on incoming calls, though, which I find annoying.

My 9800 shows the contact list. Is yours BES?

No problems with my bluetooth

I have used it with my older Samsung MM-A920, MM-A9000 and a RazrV3. Everything I need seems to be displayed on the screen of the 1490T I have. The only thing I have noticed is it takes a little time for all options to show up on the screen after it is first connected.

Sucks

The blue-tooth on the 1490T is terrible. I talked to the top programming guy at Garmin and he couldn't get it to work right either. Happy to say I no longer have the 1490T for many reasons. I now use a plantronics blue-tooth and it works great.
