Garmin 1490LMT stuck in night mode

Has anyone encountered the problem of their Garmin sticking in night mode? My 1490LMT is set to auto-switch between night and day views but this morning around 10:30 when I got in my car I noticed it was still on night view. Any info and possible fixes for this problem appreciated.

Make sure the clock is set

Make sure the clock is set correctly to am or pm. If it is, then try a reset and see if that corrects it.

There is a mode setting for this..

Look in Settings -> Display (I think)

There's something like 'Color Settings' and the choices are: daylight, nighttime, auto.

Make sure the time setting

Make sure the time setting is "Automatic" (Tools | Settings | Time).

stay in night mode

That was one of the initial problems along with frequent reboots.with the 1490. Those issues have been solved. make sure you have the most current software update. Thats very important.

thank you!

I have read and worked through all your solutions and I thank you all for your responses. The ultimate solution seemed to be resetting to default on the time page in settings. Even though the time was correct, resetting it to default seems to have solved the problem.

Map changes

My 1490LMT switches from night mode to daytime mode any time it likes when using it after dark and the map type switches from regular map view to contour map view, even sometimes the screen is split with both types of map appearing at the same time.
I have checked for all the latest updates and was wondering if a reset was in order but I am not to sure how to go about it.

To perform a master reset on the nuvi 200, 205, 465, 500, 600, 700, 705, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1600, 2200, 2300, 2400, nuLink! 1695 or nuLink! 2300 series device:

Note: A master reset will erase all waypoints or Favorites and will restore your unit to the default factory settings.

Start with the unit OFF and unplugged from power
Touch and hold the lower right corner of the screen with an index finger or the eraser end of a pencil
Continue touching and holding the lower right hand corner of the screen then power the unit ON
Release the power button when the device powers ON
You will see a new message: Do you really want to erase all user data?
Remove your finger from the touchscreen when this message displays
Touch Yes*
The device will automatically reset. Follow the on screen prompts and then place your device in an area with a clear view of the sky until it acquires satellites.

*If the text language on your nuvi is not set to English, touch the button on the right.
