POI projects

For those folks who run biodiesel (B20, B50, etc up to B100) or E85 ethanol could definiely benefit from these sites. Although there are no direct POI files from these - it's pretty easy to derive them to the GPS(explained below).

The Nuvi-supplied database is pretty sparse in the car wash area - especially when it comes to the do-it-yourself coin-op ones; therefore I figured I'd start this thread.

How many times have you crossed a mountain pass and wanted to blast that salt/sand off your car, or been on a road trip and wanted to dust off the road gunk?

I have spent the past 4 hours downloading all of the different poi's for my Garmin c580, and was wondering if there is a one large file I can download that covers everything? If not, it would be a great invention.

Anyone interested in teaming up to work on a Pittsburgh, PA project. I've found a not-really-useful natural landmarks POI elsewhere, but otherwise, haven't seen anything Pittsburgh based.

I'll be honest... I'm new enough that I'm not sure what sort of stuff to recommend, but if we want to create a list, I'll be willing to look things up and csv-ify them (or maybe even gpx).

anyone know whether the offbeat tourist attractions for the U.S.are in imperial or metric?

I would like to have a listing of Passport America camping directory POI. Also Happy Camper. both are discount camping clubs. can any one help?

Last night I successfully downloaded several POI's to my Nuvi 350. Can someone tell me how to configure my GPS to sound an alert or play an mp3 when I'm at a given proximety to a POI location? I've loaded the "Lowe's" POI, I'd like for my gps to say "Approaching Lowes"

I just uploaded a file w/ 60 or so of california piers from socal to norcal. Should be up in a few days.

The file is usually out on Wednesday? Didn't get my fix this week? LOL:)

I use garmin Nuvi 350. Is there any method of browsing POIs in another cities with or without another additional add-ons?

I'm having a bit of trouble locating POI's for the area of Saint Augustine, Fl.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am slowly putting together a single file listing of toll roads, bridge & tunnel tolls, booth locations and costs. So far I've used the files for the NE USA, NYC bridges and tunnels and Assuming there is interest, I would be happy to develop a file covering the US and Canada.

Are there any commercial chains/franchises that are publishing their own POI lists yet? In other words, has a store like Target (or the like) put all their locations on their website as a POI file?

I drive a 2003 Jeep Wrangler and love the sport of offroading, im trying to get trailheads marked where offroading is legal. I live in central New Jersey and there are a bunch of trails around here i just have to get em in order. If anyone can help out id appreciate it!! Thanks
