POI projects

First Thank You for your effort compiling the Smithfield's Chicken & BBQ! I'm heading to Raleigh next month on business.

Anyway I did find a typo in your file.

Line 15:

Should be:
-79.480483,34.759573,"Laurinburg, NC","402 Plaza Road, 910-266-8700"

How do you find the locations of all the stores in the us? On the company page there is only a store locator. Do you guys like enter each zip code and add the stores to your list or is there something you that you do?

I pass a few speed traps in my daily travels. How do i update or make sure a POI is listed for these Spots?

I was thinking about this the other day on my trip to Orlando and actually started working on it:

Basically, it's a Toll POI file. Real simple, just the location (well, obviously), an icon, and text that says:

Toll: $2.50
or for ramps:
Toll (ramp): $.50

Then it'd give you the following functionality in your GPS (mine supports all of this but I'm aware some may not):

hi sorry if i've posted in the wrong forum but i was just wondering if u had an updated bersion of the poi for future shop in canada because the one on here is from 2007. also i had one question about those icons of POI's how do u put them on the map on the GPS. im using a garmin 680.

anyone know if any such list of trails etc, for the horse riders in the USA exists? If not it would be nice to see it, if I knew how to i would do it myself but I don't have the time or knowledge

I think that someone created a POI file for Canadian rest areas quite a while ago but I can't locate it now. Is it still available?

It seems like many VFWs, Main Streets and other civic builings in the US have tanks and other armored vehicles parked out front. As a bit of a "treadhead" I like to sometimes check them out as I travel. I think Waymark has a "Military Ground Equipment Display".

Does anyone have a database for a Garmin nuvi 760 to locate lakes and boat launches in Connecticut, New England or the USA?

How does one go about finding and/or producing this type of information to be put on a personal travel assistant.

It seems to me and anyone I have spoken to that this database would be invaluable to boaters and fishing enthusiats.

haven't seen a poi for in-n-out. it's west coast hamburger place.

It seems that the poi's included with my Garmin 350 shows no Papa John's pizza or Domino's pizza as a Poi. The site currently only has Papa John's for only PA and NJ. It would be great if some could make one for the whole USA.

Hi, I made my first Custom POI file and uploaded it yesterday. I made it on Drury Inn & Suites,and I don't see it up here. Should I upload it again? Did I upload it wrong, not sure what happened. I have to say I enjoyed making my first POI file and can't wait to make more!
