POI projects

Does anyone have a file for military bases in the USA?
Going on a 2 month long trip from FL to Alaska meandering thru various states and was planning on staying at military bases campgrounds when possible (retired military).

If I wanted to start a new POI with all the locations of a certain business or bank in Arkansas or the United States what is the easiest way to find out their locations? Also, if I can find their address do I just input that into Google Earth to create the custom POI's?

I just sent an email to Ted's Montana Grill to see if they will email me a list of all their locations in the USA. This line of food is for the Bison steak lovers.

I just got a Garmin nuvi 200 and am interested in starting to use POIs. What are the best POI files for new users?

Hi, when I create a custom POI using excel comma separated value... in my nuvi 350, the adress info on the display screen is so small. On the POI that came with the gps, the adress info has a much bigger font than my custom POI. How can I change the font in my custom POI?

As a skydiver and USPA (United States Parachute Association) member, I'd like to begin a database of dropzones, otherwise known as skydiving facilities.

I can determine locations of USPA member dropzones, but would appreciate help from the public on non-member DZs.

I downloaded the North East USA school zone POI that is available via this web site . Has anyone here figured out how OLD the data is ? For my area it has a local college with a name that has not been used for 20 years. It also contains some schools that ceased to exist over 20 years ago.

Does anyone know if there is a POI file that will list all Honda dealerships?

I have gone into the POI icon area and want to download the icon/icons. I don't see anyplace to download. All I see is the word attachment under the Icon. Also how can you download the POI's or save them to your hard drive? Example. I want to download all of a certain name restraunt or food chain in my traveling area without having to do it one at a time.

I would like a poi that shows all schools in indianapolis. Cops patrol these areas like crazy and there are so many. I would like to be able to hear a sound so I know to slow down. It is almost like a speed trap

I used the web interface to fix two bad location with the NYC Attractions POI. First the World Financial District was way up in Midtown, so I picked a lat/long near the the WTC. Also the Sony Wonderland had the correct address 550 Madison, but the lat,long had it around 50 Madison so I fix that one also. GREAT WEB INTERFACE!

I hope everyone will bear with me because The POI thing is new to me and I the tech rep I spoke to at Garmin wasn't much help.

is there a way to make a custom poi for school zones where it will alert at 200 meters and if i go over 30 km an hour but in gpx format

If this idea is accepted, it may be the most ambitious project that POI Factory has ever seen. I'd like to see several GPX POI files put together containing Canadian postal code information, with each POI associated with a province, city and address/PO box range.

OK two favorite locations for me are used book stores with a symbol to indicate what kind of used book sotre ( you bibliophiles kknow what i mean) and gardens /places for photography.

I will do my zip code and add them as i travel

Anyone aware of POIs for the Elks?

If I create some POI files and upload them, am I suddenly responsible for periodically updating them? Similarly, can I download ones that currently exist and update them to add new items? For example, a restaurant chain that recently opened two new locations in my area?

i haven't seen aaa membership offices as a poi.

Forgive me if this sounds like a n00B question, but is there a POI loader for LG models or can this be done by importing the .csv files through the favorites?
