NoCO?

I'll wait to see the initial file before making any suggestions, but I was wondering what the boundaries will be? Likely not as far as my neck of the woods (Loveland), but if you do want to include this area, I can help out with suggestions for NoCO.

OK you are both added:) have fun!!!

Miss Poi

NoCO!?!?

Like what, Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley? Or the Independent Republic of Boulder? ( do you have any idea how many bars and pubs there are around CU Boulder alone? We'll be typing for months! )

I suppose they have something to offer. :+)

I hope you're picked for this team, cuz I say we'll smoke 'em all! :+)

dd

NoCO, No Bo!

We don't venture into the R.O.B. for any reason! Loveland(home)/Ft Collins/Greeley, etc... the REAL NoCO wink Although in Boulder County, Longmont and Lyons are pretty nice places, too, and by some they are considered NoCO.

True...

Good to hear you avoid R.O.B. but I do drive thru there on my way to Estes Park.

I vote that we include as much real estate in our POI offerings as we like and let the users skip the ones they don't care for. ( did I just end a phrase with a preposition? )

I'd even go for some places up I-70, US285 or CO-6, e.g. Idaho Springs, Morrison, Black Hawk, etc.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress.

Denver Project - Restaurants

Denver Project,

I would like to participate in your restaurants project, but I am a bit new to this technology. I just bought a Garmin StreetPilot c530 and have started using it this week. What is the best way to add items from my travels to your database in order to update the POI file for Denver Restaurants?

Please Add Me

Thanks,

Dave,
I have added you to the file. You can now go in and input your additions. Let me know if you need help navigating the system. Thanks for volunteering.

Miss Poi

I have added you to the top restaurants and top attractions files. Go to those file pages and you will be about to add locations. Let me know if you have any questions about the system. You will want to enter the address and the Long and Lat.

Miss POI

New Helper

I purchased the Go 720 and have been doing alot of work. I would like to join you group. You have a project to poi all sites in Colorado, US. I would like to help out. I did the Kaiser Perentente Medical files. Now I did it the hard way, so I know there must be easier ways to download the data, massage it, then geocode it. So Can I join you group and can you get me better tools to creat the databases.

I'm in SW Denver metro, and I might be able to offer some small contribution. It sure looks like the restaurant file could use some serious assistance. Only 2 locations????

That's southeast Denver suburb. Looks like I'll be able to start contributing.

BTW, I'll be driving on I-84 through Boise next weekend. Where and in which direction should I scream out, "Thank you for all your work!!"?

Denver Metro Area

Has an area been defined for this yet? I live SE of Denver (Elizabeth), but commute into Denver everyday. Should the area be defined as anything within the C470/E470 area, or is that too constricting based on how much Denver has grown over the past 15 years or so?

Not sure what is needed since most things seem to be in my GPS already, but I can contribute what I can or if anyone needs help with areas on the SE side of town.

It looks like Elizabeth would be considered in the Metro area. Go ahead and make your files and then let me know if they need to be attached to that metro page.

Miss POI

Thanks

I'll start building something for the Elizabeth area and we'll see how it looks. I am still learning this POI editor stuff, but it seems fun.

I now have two projects I am working on, this is fun!!!

Washington Mutual

After trying three WaMu locations per Garmin, I realized that they were giving me a Vectra Bank locations.

I checked the locations with WaMu.com, and found that none of the locations given by Garmin are correct. sad

Colorado First Banks

I have been thinking about putting together a POI file for First Banks in Colorado. I see how it can be a big project. Is there anybody interested in helping or has someone already started working on one?

Easieest way to get long&lat?

My c550 does not, as far as I know, show long and lat. So waht's the easiest way to get longitude and latitude? Also, how do I know if something I'm going to enter is already in the databse?

And should I put in the actaul location of, say, the front door, or the address location? Can I just feed a googlemaps location in?

Inquiring minds want to know, donchaknow!

If you wanted to play fair, why are you playing with me?

Denver is HUGE

Keep in mind that the CSMA (that's a census name for "metro area") for Denver includes all of the following:

Castle Rock, Greeley, Longmont, Fredrick, Eerie, Boulder, Evergreen, Morrison, Brighton, Elizabeth, Kiowa, Watkins, Hudson, and more.

It does not include Loveland/Fort Collins/Berthoud/Lyons, but it probably will in 2010 or 2020 at the latest.

Volunteering for Denver

Just adding my name to the hat for volunteering to help with the Denver project. Thanks.

Would anyone have any objections to me starting a light-rail POI for RTD in Denver? I did not see anything under the Denver area. I travel out there a couple times a year.
