POI projects

I use the local Ace hardware store frequently. I am thinking of developing a USA listing of all the locations. However, looking at their website, I find that there are over 6400 locations. If there is enough interest, maybe this can be made into a Project. Any interest and/or thoughts on this?

It would be great to have poi files for these types of campgrounds. I am aware of the KOA poi files but most of them are $20 a night nowdays.

I have created a blog for great motorcycle routes in the SE USA. With each route I have provided a link to the routes POI files which I have submitted here. I wonder if it would be possible to create a My POI page so users could have a list of the POI they have submitted in a single location. Kind of like a category based on the user.

If someone will give me a detailed, I mean detailed, description of how to make POI's and how to get them all into one .cvs file, I will begin making one for everyone.

The other day I uploaded a file on botanical gardens in Wisconsin and got to thinking there might be some interest on making it a nation wide thing. I don't know if the majority would like to have a combined file or keep the states separate. Any interest and ideas?

Just wondering if any of you have seen a Route One POI....I think I will start one next week as We (the family) will drive from LA to San Francisco.Suggestions and help , more than welcome.

Line 60 has simple typo in the address: Bronz should be Bronx. The name, latitude, and longitude are correct.

Several months ago I started a shotgun club project. The project was to develop ATA and NSSA shotgun range and clubs that hold tournaments so people could find the clubs easier. Many, many hours went into the development of the POI files I've posted. To date I only have clubs in the east from Michigan down to Florida.

I'm the author of the Gander Mountain POI file and I need help with some of the new(er) locations. Specifically, I need the long/lat figures for these stores:

1. 100 Gander Way, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, 33403
2. 3970 SW 3rd Street #101, Ocala, FL, 34474 *
3. 725 Bluegrass Farms Blvd., Suite 1, Bowling Green, KY, 42104 **
4. 8195 Gander Way, Roanoke, VA, 24019 *

The existing POI file for Applebee's says it is for all of USA. When I check it I only see locations for Southern USA. Is part of the file missing. Per Applebee's website they have about 1000 locations. This existing file only has about 500.

I did see five bad locations nearby (I'm guessing there may be others).

1) Line 19554 has CU Family Service Centers which is showing up in NY when the address is in MI.

2) Line 19854 is same data as the line 19554 with a slight different Lat,long which is still in NY so it can be deleted.

I found a rest area on a recent trip that is not in the Combined Rest Area file. (It is the South Carolina Welcome Center and Rest Area on I-85 North as you leave Georgia and enter South Carolina). How should I report this so that it can be added to the Combined Rest Area File? Do you need the Lat and Lon coordinates?

HI Miss POI!!!! Can you lead me in the right direction please...I don't have a problem downloading and putting POI's on my GPS. I am having problems understanding how to include the alerts and Icon's. I am pretty savvy on the computer and have read several posts but this one is obviously not my cup of tea...
