is there a way to get rid of the new map update available popup in the nuvis? it there a file i can delete. whats the gmapprom.sum file? is the the popup warning?

My Nuvi 350 has been discontinued, therefore, I guess you could call it obsolete. I assume Garmin will not have any more updates for it? If I keep updating the maps each year how long do you think I will be able to use it before it becomes too old? I only bought it 2 months ago and they already discontinued it. Thanks

Is there a way to quickly retrieve the GPS coordinates for a Favorite or custom POI in the Nuvi 650?

Just curious. I am new to the Nuvi200W. Does it tell you the altitude you are at?

Ok I DL'd the POI Loader from Garmin, DL'd some CVS POI files from here, it showed to load to the 660, but I can not find any. Where are they? tia

There are two routing features that I'd love to see – sadly, my nüvi 750 has neither.

Closed Road / Road Blocks

I've run into a few places where there is technically a road, but it's a gated access or otherwise inaccessible. It would be nice to mark a point or a section of road "unroutable".

Preferred Routes / Shortcuts

I already have an Nuvi 680, will the MSN receiver work wiht the new 765T. The site says it is MSN ready but does not come with the receiver like the 785T.

Also once subcribed, is the receiver interchangable i.e. the serial number is assocated with the receiver, not the GPS unit.

Is there a way to download gas prices on my nuvi 360 without having MSN direct?

I did a hard re-set on my 770 (to try and fix the lag problem).

As I'd read, I copied the current.gpx to my computer first, did the hard re-set, then copied the current.gpx back to the Nuvi. It looks like the file transfers, but everytime I turn on the GPS it reverts back to a much smaller current.gpx - no favorites, no home location.

Greetings.....What a great site, I just loaded the Red Light Camera POIs on my Zumo 550 which I have installed on my BMW K1200S and what a cool setup.

My question is, what would be the steps to create a Chevron Gas Station POI for Texas or the USA. Would Chevron USA be any help.

I have a Nuvi 350 that performs great, however, I see there are numerous new models available. What are the attractions to all the new models? What features do they have that are really beneficial? At some point I will give my 350 to my wife and buy another model but I am not sure exactly what I am missing. Thanks

Well, not paying attention, I deleted the .gtt files. Downloading and installing the updates via the updater only restored the British English gtt files. I can't get the American English files restored.

Anybody know anything about the Voice Editor

My Nuvi somehow knows when to make the map dark and light depending on the time of day. I am assuming that's programmed into the software somewhere...?

I have a Nuvi 660 and I have downloaded the POI Installer and as far as I can figure out, I should be getting some speed alerts or proximity warnings... Am I missing something? Am I supposed to download something else?
Please help...

i got nt 2009 (upgrade) and installed fine. my old CN NT 2008 is still sucking up hard drive space tho. anyone know how to get rid of 2008 without affecting 2009 ??
actually ive got CS7 on there too (which 08 upgraded) so can i uninstall that too ?
its like 6 gigs just wasted with obsolete maps and garmin doesnt seem to have an overwrite feature in their crappy installers.

I am a truck driver and I bought a Garmin Nuvi 650 from Cosco. It worked good for Canada but when he started trips through US it couldn't show the right ways to destination. Most of the times when I was driving through a road it showed that there is road and it is calculating.

I recently inadvertently added over 1500 hotels to my favorites. Can I delete selected entrys without erasing all of the locations I have in there?

that came preloaded on my 360 and the City Navigator® North America NT 2009 Map Update that is currently available for download from Garmin?

The reason I ask is when I registered my replacement Nuvi 360 from Garmin, they said I was entitled to upgrade to new maps.

They even sent me an activation code for the updated map.

Do I need it?
