Not counting the recent problems from updates I was wondering about reliability of Garmin products. I have only owned Garmins but my 350 had to go back twice for power switch problems and now my 750 has locked up (I did not update to 4.0 so not related) and after trying many options with CSR I have to send it back.

My Wife and I just returned from the Lake of the Ozarks area. This time, I suppose I was a little excessive, but we used our Street Pilot III and our C330 on the windshield. My wife could better see the C330. The SP3 was handy because I needed to load specific routes into it. The downside is that it is quite slow by today's standards in recalculating routes.

I noticed an sound file for "Dangerous Curve Ahead Alert Sound" does anyone know if there is a POI file that would be related to this file?

Changes made from version 5.60 to 6.00:

I just got a Garmin c580 with bluetooth connection. My native searches for Food, Hotel, etc... list the phone number with the phone icon next to it so I can just push it to call.

How do I set up the csv sheet to have that same option. The phone number is listed, but doesn't have the "phone" icon next to it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking to replace my C330. It's getting a little long in the tooth. I'd like to replace it with a comparable model. The only upgrades I'd like to see would be the speech to text, (like the C340) and the Mass Storage option with ability to upload routes from the PC to it.

I downloaded and installed this today. No smoke came pouring out -- so far, so good. I will take it out on the road tomorrow and see if I can detect any problems. Sorry, but I don't remember exactly what the release notes said. Something about working better with PC software.

Now available via WebUpdater. Any Guinea pigs?

I read it somewhere here that Acura MDX's navigation system is actually Garmin GPS with a prettier face. Is this true?

I am a new user who installed two POI's on a nuvi 350 and have two very basic questions. any help is greatly appreciated.

Initially, what is the difference from my viewpoint of a single alert and a continuous alert. Secondly, how do I turn off an alert once it has appeared?

I got the Mexico City navigator 2008 maps. I went to add one province/state to my nuvi 200 using mapsource. However, it completely erased my North America 2009 maps. Is there a way to subsequently add a map section without erasing the current mapset?

The poi uploader from Garmin is evidently different for PC (windows) and Mac. I downloaded the beta version for Mac OSX. ( the only one I could find) Is it possible to enter something manually? Everything seems to be automatic and I find no access to proximity settings or alerts. Did I miss something somewhere?

Not sure, but I think I have a problem. I downloaded and installed the RestAreasCombined(Ver.D).csv. It shows New York as one of the states covered. However, when I look at the rest areas it shows the closest one to me as being 1823 miles away (REST AREA WB I-90 MM381).

I'm in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn New York.

Is this correct?.

This is my first post.

I recently downloaded the POI loader for my Zumo 550. I also downloaded the rest area POI's from this site. I then downloaded the data to my Zumo.

However, I don't know how to know for sure if they're installed. What I tried to do was to zoom to an area where I knew there was a rest area to see if it was on the map. It wasn't.

Map freezes while navigating with the GTM-20 attached.
If I navigate the same routes on battery power, no problem. If I attach the GTM-20 at home using AC adapter, and simulate navigation, no problem.

I won a Street Pilot C340. While driving my Garmin will say a "better route is available". Why does it do this and what can I do?

I have a Nuvi 780 and it seems like it takes the MSN direct reciever forever to load the gas stations names and addresses when I look them up on my GPS. I have the MSN Direct subscription. I was wondering does anyone else have this same problem.

I bought a Nuvi 260 and it didn't come with any CDs. Can someone help me get started on creating a map and uploading it? I will be in Kathmandu for the next few months and ideally I would like to scan or download a map for the city and upload it to the unit (if that's possible). Is this the right approach? Thanks for any help.

Anybody out there know anything about the TTS Voice Editor ?
