Garmin talk

This is my Nuvi 255W on my bike.

This is installed with the Techmount stem mount.
Also hard wired a 12v, circled but not plugged in.

I've been playing MP3s with a 5W external and also nuvi FM transmitter but i get distortion from random radio stations dropping in and out of the frequency used as i drive and also sideband noise from radio stations around the frequency used. ive tried every frequency and there is always some stupid radio station broadcasting at some point in that frequency band.

I have my Blackberry (Pearl) paired with my 770 and all seems to be working with the exception of call logs. My address book transferred just fine.

However, if I look at "Last Incoming Call" or "Last Numbers Dialed", or "Missed Calls", the logs are incorrect. My Nuvi firmware is 3.10.

Upgraded today from C340 to nuvi 650. It's pretty much unbelievable that neither unit allow you to alphabetize favorites or otherwise organize them. What was Garmin thinking? LOL

I did look at the unit's files and found that I couldn't get the GPX file open to read.

I had hoped that maybe there would be a way to put the fav's into an excel file to organize.

I currently have a C530 and I’m looking to upgrade to a 255/ 260. But the 530 isn’t dead yet and it has some features I like very much. So I have a question for the 260 or 255 owners. Does the 260 have the following: Intersections, Cities, browse maps? Are these features easily accessed? Any other comments regarding the 255/260 would be appreciated.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but Wrex the tow truck has joined tHe Garmin Garage. Now if I could just get a Corvette.....

I do have a Street Pilot 2720 with the 2008 NT America Map in it. I intend to drive to Mexico this winter and would like to add the Mexican Map.

My question is: Can I just download the map into my Garmin and it will add to the present map or do I have to delete the NT America map

I have downloaded bitmap symbols (icons) for my Nuvi 200w, into my c:\'Custom Waypoint Symbols' folder.

From there I am suppose to be able to see them in Mapsource 'custom' symbols. I have the display set to 'symbol and name'.

Can anyone tell me why the new symbols are not showing?

I have several POIs on my desktop, loaded onto my Garmin's SD card via Garmin's POI loader - seems OK. Every time I turn the unit on, I get a message that asks if I want to transfer the data from the card to the device in case the SD card is removed - I always choose NO.

I don't know if anyone is still using the GPS V, but I've recently had problems with it hanging up. Soon after it acquires Sats, the screen blanks out and has one line through it.

My Nuvi 880 seems inaccurate by 100 ft.
When I'm stopped at a road it still show 50-100 ft to go. When I go home it still shows I got 100ft to go. Is this normal?
I have a 350 and it does not have this problem.

Hi everyone what do you think about the new Nuvi's 7*5T series coming out. I think they are the best Nuvi's to come out.I like the features in these units even better than the 800 series with there voice activation. Here is a link to the Nuvi's:

I am planing a trip through the South. Alabama, Georgia, & Florida appear to have been left out of the system. I tried to re-load mapping software, but it won't accept the c330. I know my c330 is no longer supported by Gamin. Is there a way to get these states to load?

i just received my free nuvi 200 and would like to know if my POI on my SD card which works with MP3 sound alerts will work on the Nuvi 200 which does not.
How can i make the sounds be active or do i have to convert to another sound format ?

Why is it the Garmin does have dead reckoning in the Nuvi line? There is a premium paid for this units and you would think it would be included. Or is it that most GPS units don't have this anymore? I think it would be a welcomed addition to any GPS. What do you think?

My NUVI 760, is dialing the wrong number that I have set to "Home" When I hit the Phone Icon on the main menu, then select Home, it dials my home number, with some extra digits on the end.

How do I reset that? I checked under Favorites, and Home, and tried that way, but the number there, is already correct.

I'm new to this and would appreciate your help. I've been able to download and install the POI's...and then tried to include the icons. I followed the instructions on the FAQ (http://www.poi-factory.com/node/4359) and I don't see the icons on the gps. I renamed them to exactly the same as the POI file. Any thoughts?

I have a nuvi 650.

I have a nuvi 350. this has happened to two 350s that I have owned.

When I assign a symbol icon to one of my favorites and save it, the icon is there. Sometime in the future, the icon will all of a sudden not be there anymore. I will then notice a tiny square dot in its place. This can happen within a minute from the save or later on.

Thanks to all for including phone #'s in poi files. they sure have helped me on several occasions,just wanted to say thanks, because I know that it includes extra work when you are creating your files.

I haven't been able to locate anything on this topic in these forums, but if I did miss a thread, I'd be grateful if someone could point me to it.
