Map of Mexico

I do have a Street Pilot 2720 with the 2008 NT America Map in it. I intend to drive to Mexico this winter and would like to add the Mexican Map.

My question is: Can I just download the map into my Garmin and it will add to the present map or do I have to delete the NT America map

Thank You

TessierJM

How do you add your maps?

If you use mapsource, you can select your North America maps and then the Mexico maps and load them all at once proviced the 2720 has sufficient memory to hold both sets. With my old StreetPilot III I had to select only maps for areas I would be visiting because of memory constraints.

Not trying to highjack this thread

but does anyone have a recommendation about where we can buy the Mexico maps on an SD card at a good price? We have a 260 and sure would like to get the Mexico maps on SD before our trip in January. Thanks!

.

Here are some options.

http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavntmexico...

http://www.mexicomaps.com/

http://www.gpsinformation.org/jack/cruise/cruise-a.html

http://mapcenter2.cgpsmapper.com/maplist.php?country=142

If you get the preloaded SD card from Garmin, it can be used with more than one GPS unit. It cannot, however, be used with MapSource on a computer. The data also cannot be copied to another card. The maps are locked to the card, but otherwise they do not need an unlock code to be used with a GPS unit. No additional maps or other data can be put on the preloaded SD card.

Mexican Map

Thank you for the advice. I use Map Source and I beleive to have enought space if I remove some POIs that I want need

I don't believe you can add

I don't believe you can add a card to a 2720. It doesn't have a card slot does it?

.

No, it doesn't. My response was directed to FreddyP.

Thanks for info...

MM - thanks for all the info. Sorry for any confusion my question might have raised. I knew the Street Pilot 2720 could not use the SD card (no slot) but thought it was a good spot to ask my question since our 260 can smile
