I updated to 6.0. Next time I turned on my 350, a screen flashed too quickly for me to read, then screen went blank and stayed that way. Happened each time I turned it on. If I turn on while connected to PC, the same screen stays on so I can read it. It says my map NT 2008, is outdated and should be update. When I press OK, nothing happens. Unit is locked.

On the 660 is there a way to turn up the volume on the poi alert ?

Weird thing happened today, my Nuvi showed about a 500 foot offset from the map to where I really was. The 880 was showing a 25' accuracy on the satellites screen.

This happened one time before in the short time I've had the unit, which is normally reasonably accurate.

It was overcast but I assumed the good accuracy report from the 880 indicated that the overcast condition wasn't having any effect.

Comments?

I have tried Gary Hayman's procedure in his article I've been set up but the set loc option did not appear after tapping Show Map. I followed his example as given in the article. So my question is can I set loc on the Nuvi 350 AND the location is in another state?

Also, what is the difference between setting alerts as single tone vs continuous all alerts from a user perspective.

Hello all, I will be traveling into Canada next week and was wondering if there is anything I should be aware of about using my Nuvi 350 while in country and if there in anything I need to program differently while using my Nuvi - my planned route is from Niagara Falls thru Toronto and out to Alexandria Bay, NY.

Does the icon for specific POIs (ie Best Buy) only show up on the endpoint?? Or will it show an icon for every store (if I were to pass by one)??

I am making a trip to England next year and trying to find the most reasonable price for the UK/Ireland maps. I have a nuvii 660 and the best price I can find so far is $90.00. Can anybody help with a more reasonable price? Thanks in advance.

I just uploaded the camera POI files to my Garmin660. Do I need to do anything to activate them or is it automatic. This is my first GPS.

Have a street pi;ot c330, want to know if there is web site avail (Garmin?) that will show a user tricks of the trade on usage and or topics?

I have a Nuvi 760, running on a MacBook Pro, both systems new to me. I just downloaded the cvs file for rest areas. I get that I need to use the POI Loader from Garmin to get this info into the unit. I guess my two questions are:
Where do I put this file; in the unit? In internal memory or on my SD Card?
And will this show up on the main screen so I can activate for my chosen route?

TTS_Speech_Doctor can be a solution to your GPS speech impediments!

For now, TTS_Speech_Doctor v0.20 will correct the problems below. More will come later.

- Change "St" to "Street" instead of "Saint"
- Change "FM" to "Farm Road" instead of "FM"
- Change "Dr" to "Drive" instead of "Doctor"

On the 660 how do you know what Zoom Level you are at ?

The subject line tells the story.. just wanted to add a new poi or 2 into my Zumo and when it was all over, all I could find were the 2 new files... not happy!! Had some beauties from all over the web there.. OK.. so I downloaded the new ones into a desktop file in order that POI loader could transfer them..

Is it really worth updating a Nuvi 350 with the new update that Garmin has posted? What real advantages am I getting with this? Has anyone tested it yet? My son wants to update his Nuvi, but I'm not sure it is worth it.

We recently returned from The Grand Tetons National Park and Yellowstone National Park. The POI files available on this site were invaluable for our traveling. What I would like to do is determine a way to modify the POI files so that an alert would be given each time we were near a point that was contained in the POI file.

I have a Nuvi 680 with MSN traffic. My lighter adapter went out so I had to order a new one (ouch!) Anyway it came today and on the back of the package it lists all of the units the adapter is compatible with. It shows the 7xx series, and also the 680. There is a note on the 680 that indicates it only receives traffic, weather, movies and gas prices.

Just an FYI...
After speaking with garmin regarding my poor bluetooth performance with my blackberry 7520..(See post: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/17287 ) I was told that it is still possible to backdate from the current 4.60.
There is no lockout as with the current 7xx 4.0 and above.
Granted, it was a front line rep, but she put me on hold and said she spoke to a senior tech/developer.

I just opened a GPX, I saved with Garmin Mapsource, in Microsoft word 2003 and it dowloaded XML and Garmin GPX extensions it then displays the file in and easy to edit form.

Just started playing so other's comments would be great
