Garmin talk

This only occurs on one stretch that I've found but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced it.

Using the built-in antenna for traffic alerts, when travelling WEST on Beltway 8 in Houston. I get 'slow traffic ahead' alerts for traffic going EAST (behind me). This is the only place I've ever noticed my Nuvi 760 not 'knowing' which direction I'm going.

I have downloaded some POI's from here to my laptop with no problem, until I send them to my c-330. When I send one to the unit, I'll bring up my custom POI's, and it will be there, but when I send another POI, it will replace the previous one. What am I doing wrong?

Many of you are frequenters of other GPS forums, but for those who are not, I did find this review.

I created a route using MapSource and downloaded it to my Nuvi. I then selected the route and started on my 140 mile trip from Point A to Point B. As I was driving through Eureka Springs, AR I suddenly got an audio speed alert, and when I looked at the screen it showed a speed limit of 0.6 mph. I have no idea where this came from, as I have not loaded any speed or proximity alerts.

I have had my nuvi 750 for a little over 7 months now and this has never happened before.

After starting up "Lucy" and driving in map mode, as I approached an alert POI i got a full screen alert with he voice announcement. I then had to press OK to get back to my map screen. I made "Lucy" re-boot and every thing was back to normal.

I know that when I create Waypoints and Routes in MapSource and then download them to my Nuvi, the Nuvi makes Favorites out of those Waypoints used in the Routes. Since I have downloaded many Routes and many Waypoints, my Favorites is getting really full.

After a successful download, can I delete some of these Favorites from my Nuvi without messing up my Routes?

I have the 2009 map on our nuvi 660, and yesterday, we were told to turn in the wrong direction which was off by over 1.5 miles.

The Garmin units I had before I got my 680 (GPS-196 and GPS-296) had the ability to select "scenic" routes whereby you could avoid dull freeway drives. Wonder why Garmin didn't include this feature on the Nuvi's?

what are the differences. which is best

I have a Garmin C340 unit and have a question. I've been experimenting with loading POIs into my unit and have run up a situation which I don't quiet understand. I can load Cracker-Barrel, Walmart, Pizza Hut, and Wendys into my unit easily (approximately 14,000 points) but if I try to add McDonalds (another 13,500) points it says it don't have enough space.

Im new to GPS (My first Nuvi 760). I have a new driving area (Field serv tech)

I just wanted to say THANKS. You answered every question I had in your FAQ's and the POI's files are awesome. I paid my 20 and DL'd the Red light and Speed traps. I also DL'd a few others, but I just wanted to say you folks are very much appreciated.

can you save the custom pois from a c330 to my computer i lost the ones i had so instead of downloading them all again i thought it would be easier to load them from the gps if possible

Has any one used the Europe SD card in Italy? I will be taking a tour in Late September and will do a self guided tour in Rome. How good is the Map for walking around downtown Rome and other cities?

Any help/opinion will be appreciated.

Does the nuvi 200 have a off road setting to possible use on the trail?

We've been using Communicator Plugin version 2.5.2 along with Thunderbird 2.0.0.16 and Google Maps to download special locations to the Favorites folder in our Garmin 260 for quite some time with no problems. Today, for some reason, everything just seemed to stop....no more option to send to GPS from Google Maps.

every once in a while my 660 freezes up. to unfreeze it I have to unplug the cig adapter and plug it back in. it starts back up and works fine.

anybody have this problem? wondering if I should send it in for repairs. I got it last november and updated to 2009 maps when they were released. this problem happened before the update as well.

I have a NUVI 650. Some day I'll need to change the battery, but it works fine now. I see batteries sold online within reason. But, how do you remove the old and replace the new battery in the unit without damaging it. It does not seem obvious how to open the case.

I go to google maps and get directions from point A to point B. I then modify the directions to suit my own preferrences. NOW HOW CAN I TRANSFER THIS NEW MAP DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY TO MY GARMIN. I GO TO SEND AND I CAN ONLY E-MAIL THE DIRECTIONS.I CAN NOT SEND THEM TO MY GPS LIKE I COULD SEND A POI. CAN ANYBODY HELP

Just received a refurbished nuvi 760 last week and am happy as to the features it has.
Am a bit disappointed because the internal memory is only 2 GB (I think the 770 has 4 GB) but my 4 GB SD fits into it so that's fine.

Anyone find a way to view your Garmin screen on your PC?
