Viewing Downloaded POI Icons

First, I am a Rookie. I downloaded a POI file along with an icon. Renamed the icon; i.e. same name except bmp extension, placed it in the same folder as the POI file. Used POI loader to transfer it to an SD card.
The file shows up in the Extras category on my Garmin C530, however, where or when should I actually see the icon which was downloaded? Or are the icons not supported on the C530?

With most gps you need to zoom in to 200 300ft and be in 2d mode not 3D. See if that will help.
