Are the links broken to the POI files?

When I click the Garmin download button at the top of a particular POI page and select save or open the in the file dialog window, it disappears and the file is not open or saved. This happens with any file I select.

Any suggestions?

I have a Garmin 760 and have found many great poi's but how many is too much? If you add too many will it make the garmin sluggish?

Custom POI and alerts is there a waay to have them show up when just viewing the map. Sometime I'm out driving and not routing with the GPS but I have the map up. Is there a way to have the Custom POI and the proximity(sp) alerts working during this time.

ok i download poi files and installed them in my unit. i want to see how it works and looks for the new spots i have installed but the simulator says its going to take me 30 min to get there. is there a way to speed up the simulator or get closer to my spot i want to see. i want to see the icon and hear the sound for the new spot i put in.

1st i have been getting alot of help here and its great.

2nd, i downloaded the speedcam and redlight poi files and i want to have sound with them. i see theres alot of sound files for them. are there alot a differant sounds in each file or just 1 sound for each file?

I have semi-permanent mounted my 255W in my primary vehichle, but left it so I easily remove it to use in my secondary vehichle, only I don't want to have to move the power cord adapter as it is threaded behind the dash.

I have a garmin 339C and would like to know if there is a way to change the alert for the speed cameras. My unit does not have mp3 but can I change the sound or tones to be different. I would appreciate any help or referall to some article.

I loaded POI of Speed cameras to my garmin.Then I tried to load different speed icons and alarm sounds accordance with those speed cameras. Now I have problem with these speed limits. There are so many different speed limits: 10, 15, ...70 mph. How do I know what's the speed limit on which speed camera?

Ok, as have several others, I posted that my 260W (purchased Black Friday at Best Buy) has many of the new style 255W features ... features Garmin specs say the 260W doesn't have (ie Where Am I? Next Turn Icon in upper left corner. Automatic Time Set)

I have a nuvi 265T, and want to take advantage of the ability to have image associated with my custom poi's. How do I do this. I don't want to have them as favorites, I want to have them as custom POI's.
I generate a gpx file to upload with POIloader, but don't know the proper syntax to add images.

I've have a question about the calculated arrival time on the Nuvi 2xx series. I'm driving through several time zones, does the calculated arrival time shown at the local destination time zone or the time zone where you started ?

Just got the new version (4.70) installed on my nuvi and so far so good. You mileage may vary! (LOL) One question, I have the ORIGINAL Bluetooth software on the unit, it shows as version 00.00 on the unit. My question is, should I install the new bluetooth version or just leave things be since it seems to work fine as it is?!

ok just joined here today and i know more then i could ever want. ok my question is 1st, is my garmin 205w compadable with garmin loader software for poi?

2nd, after loading a poi file, how will it work? i just setup a root like normal and the, say speedcam spots will just show up on my root with some kind of warning?

Garmin has released software updates for the Nuvi 800 series via webupdater, I noticed it has not released as a download as of yet, only via webupdater. I notice when I hooked up my 880 to receive the update, it said 850 so I have decided to hold off to see if another updated will be available soon. These are the changes:

Hey I was wondering as I read as many of these threads, if it is possible to set a how to area on this forum to where you can input you model of GPS and find out everything there is on how it works and how to load stuff on it. I see there is alot of the same questions being asked and I know there is a search but you have to read so much your eyes start to cross.

I, unfortunately, have a 300 series device and therefore cannot use the voice. However, I wanted to share it with others.

I have a garmin 330C and would like to know if there is a way to modify the alert sound on my unit. I wanted a different sound so I would be able to reconize it for the speed cameras.

I have downloaded a poi file (Walmart) and th barmin poiloader. But the loader can not find the file I downloaded to put on the Nuvi T755T. What did I do wrong?

im going to FL this winter for 2 weeks so i boght a gramin 255w gps for my truck. i live in troy ny in upstate ny and will be driving down the east coast and back the same way. i just heard about speed cams and was wondering if there is something i can download and install in my gps to tell me where this speedcams are.

I recently made a trip to Arizona. Before leaving I downloaded the New speed and red light files (19'th of November 2008). For some reason at every red light and speed camera,my nuvi 750 would start ringing and alert me that the speed was 12MPH. If I look at the file (Speed Camera) It show's anywhere between 30 and 75 MPH What is the problem. Nowhere do i see 12 MPH in the file.
